Follow along here!

On the most recent episode of the podcast, Greg mentioned the ability to use Wyndham Rewards points to book not only Vacasa vacation rentals, but also to book Club Wyndham properties that are often 1-bedroom condo timeshare-type properties using Wyndham Rewards points. This week, JT Genter at Award Wallet broke the news that a dozen of these properties within the United states can now be booked for just 7,500 Wyndham Rewards points per night, including in destinations like Las Vegas, Phoenix, Branson, and Kissimmee, FL. This won’t always be a great deal for points, but it is certainly a tool to keep in your belt — particularly if you’re a Wyndham Earner cardholder given that you’ll pay just 6,750 points per night after your 10% discount on awards.

The Deal

  • Wyndham Rewards is offering 1-bedroom condos at some of the Club Wyndham properties from just 7,500 Wyndham Rewards points per night (or 6,750 points per night for Earner credit card holders)
  • Search at WyndhamHotels.com

Quick Thoughts

The good news here is that it is possible to book a 1-bedroom condo for just 7,500 points per night in a handful of US destinations. That can be pretty awesome, particularly for family travelers who likely care the most about amenities like a separate living room and kitchen, etc.

And it gets a bit better still for Wyndham Earner cardholders, since they qualify for a 10% discount on all awards — meaning that they won’t pay 7,500 but rather just 6,750 points per night for a one-bedroom condo when awards are available.

While in many situations this probably won’t be the highest possible value redemption you’ll get from Wyndham points, it is quite solid. Cash prices for the example dates shown above would start around $100 a night, which is certainly not a bad deal for 6,750 or 7,500 Wyndham points.

Still, that’s obviously far below what you can get with the best Vacasa redemptions thanks to Wyndham’s partnership with Wyndham Rewards. Greg has written extensively about the partnership and how to use it (See: Wyndham Vacasa: Great value is real! and Scratch Hawaii off your bucket list with just 2 credit card points bonuses for some examples).

Still, I’ll keep this one in mind since JT listed US destinations that certainly may be useful for us in the next couple of years and I could see the appeal given the ease with which one can earn Wyndham points through their credit cards, shopping portal promotions, and even by purchasing points.

I’ve been looking into using Wyndham points to stay in Princeville on Kauai’s north shore. 15K per night seems reasonable for a $250 per night condo.

how can i booked?

John

Trying to book Peacock Suites in Anaheim that’s listed in the Award Wallet article, but for some reason I can’t figure it out. Anyone else having the same issue?

Ken

This is amazing value when you consider that people pay $5k/year for 15 years to buy a timeshare and get only 7 days per year to use. Plus all the BS yearly/monthly fees they steal from you. Can’t believe so many people fall for their scam.

Beavis

But the salespeople were so nice and they told me that they’re favorite customers were the elderly like me on fixed incomes.

Ken

You’d say that too if suckering someone was a $1k+ payday each. They work on commission. Or is that sarcasm?

Beavis

Oh, no; I’m very serious. Whenever I am approached for a time share presentation, the first thing I do is insist that I am allowed to buy at least two. I really press the point. For some reason, they then leave me alone and approach other people. Am I doing something wrong?

I booked Desert Rose Resort in Vegas (little ways off the strip) for 3 nights starting tomorrow for 20,250 Wyndham points. Free parking and no resort fees is my understanding. I’ll report back.

Brian C

By the way, I had just found this option myself by accident. But thanks for the post! Hoping to use it again in the future at other properties.

JayP

That’s a nice attitude! I’ll confess I’m not always so generous when a deal I find myself gets published. I’ll try to be more positive next time 🙂

Joremero

Please do report back, this may be very useful

Any international properties in this bucket?
