This is from an email sent to Plink members:
“Be sure to get your Staples shopping done before Tuesday, March 11th!
Staples is expiring from Plink on 3/11/14. All qualifying purchases at
Staples prior to March 11th will be awarded Plink points within 7
business days.
Not to worry, Office Depot will be joining Plink on March 12th for all
your office and school supply needs! Look for this great new offer
next week.”
Does any one know how EXACTLY this cut off works? Do “all qualifying purchases” mean that the charges need to post before 3/11 or do you just have to make the purchases by 3/11 and they can post later? I am screwed if the latter is true. Charges never post THEN get reported to plink in two days… Any insights? Anyone?
Well, I know how it should work, but can’t promise that it will go without a hitch: It should be that any transactions marked 3/10 or earlier on your bank account will qualify for plink points
You can still buy fixed value Visa gift cards at OD (e.g. $200) with a credit card. And, many stores will let you buy variable load merchant gift cards (e.g. Whole Foods, Home Improvement, etc.)
This might be part of the reason Plink is dropping Staples — they are closing 225 stores nationwide.

Seeing how you can only buy merchandise with a credit card at office depot, I don’t see any benefit our use, am I missing something?
It’s annoying that Plink is doing this. Office Depot is a worthless store. Is there any way the frequent flyer community can get together and petition for Plink to re-start their relationship with Staples, and possibly 7-11?
I don’t think so. I’m sure that Staples withdrew from the arrangement because they decided it wasn’t profitable for them
