Quick Thoughts
It’s not clear yet whether or not entering your SkyMiles number on the above landing page will earn you 500 bonus SkyMiles, but it’s worth a try just in case it works.
The terms suggest that you need to be flying with Delta in or out of LAX, but when registering for the promotion it gives the following message:
Your 500 bonus miles are on their way and will be added to your SkyMiles account in the next 48 hours.
Thank you again for your patience as we continue to work tirelessly to bring you a world-class travel experience at LAX.
As always, we look forward to seeing you on onboard again soon.
The fact that it says that 500 bonus miles are on their way is a good sign, but I don’t know if there’s some kind of auto-checking that’ll be processed by Delta’s system to verify that you’ve taken an eligible flight.
That message is a little confusing though seeing as it says the miles will be awarded within 48 hours, whereas the terms of the promotion state that you have to wait 4-6 weeks after travel is completed for the miles to appear.
This promotion is due to end on September 30 and there’s a limit of 1,000 bonus miles per week. Provided the bonus miles are awarded without actually taking a flight, that means you and each member of your family can earn 2,000 miles by the end of the month.
Too bad this wasn’t posted on August 2
Thanks! Worked for me and two other family members. I will try again next week.
No harm entering your Delta number to see if you get 500 miles for signing up, but that looks to be it unless you’re flying through LAX in the next week.
Filling the form doesn’t issue miles. It credits as a 500 bonus on any leg transiting through LAX
