Preferred Hotels and its I Prefer loyalty program are running an interesting new promotion that can be pretty rewarding.
For every stay of two or more nights through the end of August 2026, you’ll get a $50 hotel certificate for every different property you stay at, up to $250 in certificates.

Quick Thoughts
Getting a $50 certificate that can be redeemed at any hotel in the I Prefer program is a decent reward compared to other hotel promos like Marriott’s 2,500 bonus points per stay.
There are several important things to be aware of with regards to eligible stays and the certificates themselves. Stays have to be at least two consecutive nights and you only get a certificate for each distinct hotel you stay at during the promo period, so staying at the same hotel two or more times will still only get you one certificate.
Another key feature of an eligible stay is that existing bookings don’t count; your reservations have to be made after registering for this promotion. Be sure to check the cancellation policy of any existing stays and what the updated (if applicable) pricing would be before cancelling and rebooking, in case the room rate has increased so much as to negate the $50 certificate.
On the redemption side, a key feature worth noting is that the certificates expire at the end of this year. That gives you a somewhat decent amount of time to redeem it/them, but it does mean that it’s not as useful as $50 worth of I Prefer points that don’t expire provided you have some kind of earning/redemption activity every 24 months.
Something I’m not sure about is if you can redeem two or more certificates for the same stay as the terms don’t state that one way or another. If you’re likely to earn two or more of these $50 certificates, that’s worth bearing in mind. Please let us know though if you do earn two or more and are able to redeem them for the same stay, as that’ll be helpful to know. If Preferred Hotels has run a similar promotion in the past, please also let us know how it worked then too if you have any data points.
