Priority Pass keeps adding new restaurants to the program, giving travelers a credit for food and drink at the airport. The latest additiong is P.F. Chang’s at Los Angeles Airport (LAX) in the Tom Bradley International Terminal. This one ups the ante, with a visit giving you a credit good for $30 per person (assuming you have guesting privileges).

  • Cardholder may only register 2 Guests per visit to receive US$30 deduction. Any additional guests will not be eligible for US$30 deduction.

Quick Thoughts

This restaurant is of course airside after security checks and the terms indicated that you must be an international passenger (whether or not that is enforced how whether it matters if you are departing or returning is likely a YMMV situation). As noted above, you’ll get a $30 credit for you and each of up to two guests — meaning that if your card allows two guests for free, you could get a credit of up to $90 with two guests. While I haven’t been to this location and imagine the prices are higher than at your local mall, I imagine thirty bucks ought to make it possible to get a meal and a drink.

It’s great to see Priority Pass continue to expand the offerings. While some would prefer a lounge to a restaurant, it seems that this is the path Priority Pass is taking, and in my mind it ups the value of a membership since you can now easily get a proper meal in a number of airports, something I have to do now and then anyway…I’d much rather my credit card cover a meal than an overcrowded lounge with trail mix. I’m personally no fan of P.F. Chang’s, but I’m sure that many people will be happy to dine there. On that note, the app does state that they may limit capacity. It’ll be interesting to see if and how quickly that happens here.

Why can’t they be clear? Does “international flight only” mean they think you can’t get into the international terminal at LAX without an international flight? That’s not the case. If they mean you have to be on an international flight, then “Cardholders must present a valid Card and Boarding Pass with confirmed same-day travel” could say ‘international travel”.

jediwho

When is this effective from? I have a flight this Friday from T6 and have a couple of hours at the airport.

Glad they’re adding this option, even though I don’t fly out there too frequently. Last time I was in LAX the lounge options were not bad, but having a more substantial food option will be worth it for those longer layovers.
