Rakuten has for several months been offering rewards when applying and being approved for the Chase Freedom Unlimited® card.
Its base level seems to be $25 cashback or 2,500 Bilt Rewards points, depending on what your earning preferences are set to. At the moment, that rate has been boosted to $90 cashback or 9,000 Bilt points for new Chase customers and $50/5,000 Bilt points for existing Chase customers.
Be aware that this offer doesn’t seem to be available if your Rakuten account is set to earn Membership Rewards.

Quick Thoughts
When Rakuten first started offering rewards for the Freedom Unlimited card a year or two ago, the bonus from Rakuten was $150. This latest offer isn’t as good, but $90 cashback or 9,000 Bilt points is as good as it’s been recently, but only if you’re a new Chase customer.
Note that this bonus is in addition to the current welcome offer on the Freedom Unlimited card, so you can get rewarded twice.
If you’re looking to apply for this card and someone else in your household already has a Chase Freedom® (no longer open to new applications), Chase Freedom Unlimited®, or Chase Freedom Flex® card, you can have them refer you to the Freedom Unlimited card and they’ll earn 5,000 bonus Ultimate Rewards points. That’s obviously not as appealing when Rakuten is offering $90/9,000 Bilt points, but it does become more interesting when Rakuten’s bonus drops to $25/2,500 points, or if the person being referred is an existing Chase customer and so is only eligible for $50/5,000 points from Rakuten anyway.

It is only $50 for existing Chase customers
Good point, I’d missed that part. I’ll add that to the post.
