Rakuten is back with another 10%/10x promotion for hundreds of retailers online as well as a number of in-store retailers as part of their card-linked program. Some of their 10x promos can have a mediocre list of eligible retailers, but this latest one has a potentially decent list depending on what you need to book/buy. There are a couple of retailers that go above even higher, most notably Dell, which is at 12x.
The Deal
- Earn 10%/10x at hundreds of retailers with Rakuten (12%/12x at Dell)
- Direct link to offer – online retailers.
- Direct link to offer – in-store retailers.
Key Terms
- Expires March 17th, 2023.
Quick Thoughts
The usefulness of these promos will always depend on your spending patterns, but it seems like this latest promo is one of their better ones.
That’s because it includes:
- IHG
- Best Western
- Dell
- Viator
- TripAdvisor
With IHG and Best Western, note that you only have to book your travel today – you don’t have to stay by tonight. It’ll track your reservations at 10x and pay out at some point after you’ve completed your stay.
The most notable of the in-store retailers is GameStop as 10x for a card-linked program is a great return considering the wide range of items sold in-store.
I can not believe you are recommending Rakuten; it is the most devious shopping portal. They have so many Terms & Conditions to disqualify your purchase incentives. I’d recommend Capital One or AAdvantage sites over it.
I’ve had great luck with Rakuten. It seems like one of the most reliable portals to me.
Still no Xbox gift cards at Dell. Any recommendations how to burn Amex Business Plat credits?
Light bulbs, portable chargers, Bose headphones, laptop bags, arcade games and more. They also sell $199.99 Chromebooks, so if you don’t have any need for anything you could buy those and donate to local schools, charities, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, etc.
I decided to get a Nintendo Switch. They are rarely on sale, and it includes a $35 Dell gift card right now. Should be easy to resell for $250. I’ve split the payment between two Biz Plats. Now only wait to see if Dell cancels the order.
Any opinion as which laptop bag Dells sells is the best? I know FM is not a consumer product review site, but I wouldn’t mind some “best of” or recommended items to buy on Dell, considering so many people have multiple biz platinum cards.
I currently use the Dell EcoLoop Pro Backpack – CP5723. It’s a pretty big backpack that I can fit a lot into which is why I use it. If you want something that’s not quite as big though, I love the Solo New York Urban Convertible 15.6 Inch Laptop Bag (Gray) – I used it for years and it held up incredibly well. I only stopped using it as I wanted something with even more storage space; for your average person though, it should be plenty large enough.
I don’t suppose the Rakuten 10 times offer applies to buying points at IHG or Best Western?
Unfortunately not as those are processed by Points.com
