The Rakuten shopping portal is offering up to 20 Membership Rewards points per dollar or 20% cash back on many stores today. This stacks with their ongoing offer for 4,000 Membership Rewards points (or $40 cash back) for new members who join and make qualifying purchases totaling $40 or more within 90 days of becoming a new member.
The Deal
- New members who join the Rakuten shopping portal at this link (our referral) can get 4,000 Membership Rewards points (or $40) after making a qualifying purchase of $40 or more within 90 days of becoming a new member
- Today only (Cyber Monday), Rakuten is offering 15X or 15% back at many stores (including Dell). For their “best customers” (whatever that means?!), they are offering up to 20X at some stores.
- Dell is 15X/15% and Saks is 16X/16% for both new and existing customers.
Quick Thoughts
With many great Cyber Monday deals going on right now, this is a great way to stack rewards! Those with Amex Platinum Dell or Saks credits, can get a 100% rebate from Amex while also earning 4K points or $40 back as a new Rakuten member plus 15X or 16X rewards!
I was a Rakuten frequent user and supporter.
Recently they changed their terms not allowing people outside US and Canada to get bonuses and cancelled all the referrals and purchases made before the change.
Completely arbitrary. They did it even for people who had US accounts and address.
Now I don´t recommend the service to anyone.
10x with no exclusions listed at Sam’s Club looks pretty good. Maybe I’ll get a few discounted gift cards to use up my 5x Citi prestige + 5% up to $500.
Greg: I have an Amex Offer for $100 off $100 at Dell. That requires going to dell.com/amexplat – is it possible to go to that website and still get the 15% from Rakuten?
Even though that offer says to shop at dell.com/amexplat, you don’t have to in order to earn the $100 back. Simply start at Rakuten, click through to Dell, and pay with your Amex card.
Thanks!
I guess they mean it when they say “Only for our best members” (in your screen shot). I only see a banner for 15x rewards.
The good news is that the 20X offers didn’t look very interesting to me, but the really good ones (like Dell 15X) are available for everyone.
Waiting for Rakuten to add Hyatt.com, or a grocery chain!
Or, better yet, a Hyatt Place location that codes as grocery.
That sells gift cards at the front desk 🙂
