Quick Thoughts
Again, if you value American Express Membership Rewards points at greater than 1c each, this offer represents a rebate of better than 30%. That’s a huge savings on Rimowa, a brand that is otherwise hard to find discounted.
There is likely a $150 statement credit version of this offer as well, so be on the lookout for that if cash is king and you’re not looking to pad your points balance.
Overall, this looks like a nice deal if you’re in the market for Rimowa luggage.
[…] Rimowa offer: Spend $500, get 15K Membership Rewards points / $150 [Targeted] (Expires 7/15/19) […]
Been considering a Rimowa carry-on for years — almost took the plunge the last few times I was in Munich but chickened out each time. Between my wife and I, we have 8 AMEX cards to choose from. This offer was only available on my *authorized user* card for my wife’s Everyday Preferred account. It’s an interesting thing that AMEX authorized user cards need to be registered separately and that they AMEX treats them as different cards for the purposes of offers (they do have different numbers). So, if I had made the purchase on my wife’s card from the same account, it wouldn’t have triggered. Just something to remember.
The funny thing is that this deal is probably ultimately a bit more expensive, but it’s the *possibility* of getting outsized value from the points tipped the balance for me. I’m a total sucker for big point bonuses. Thanks for posting!
I never am targeted for such deals. Sad.
Got it on my Amex Plat … nothing on SO’s account. Definitely going to use it. Great deal.
can you still add amex offers using twitter?
No. That died a long time ago (like maybe 2 years ago?)
Hmm. In light of their declining construction quality and the brand being a point of indulgence for Chinese vanity, I don’t have the same love for Rimowa that I once had.
