Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
This Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20, 2022, Greg and I will be speaking at the New York Travel & Adventure Show at the Jacob Javits Center along with Julia Menez of Geobreeze Travel. We love to connect with readers at events like these, so we hope to see some New York locals and points and miles enthusiasts who will be in New York City this weekend.

Quick Thoughts
This marks the end of our long hiatus from similar events due to the pandemic. In fact, our last in-person event was at the Washington, D.C. Travel & Adventure Show two years ago this past weekend.
The Travel & Adventure Show isn’t just a points-and-miles themed event but rather an event aimed more broadly at those interested in travel and destinations. There are multiple stages and a broad range of speakers this weekend including Pauline Frommer of The Frommer’s Guides, Peter Greenberg of CBS, and Brian Kelly of The Points Guy and a number of other notable authors, tourism board representatives, and expert travel writers.
This is an event broadly aimed at all travelers rather than specifically at the miles-and-points community, so our talk will be a broad overview of the best hotel and flight awards bookable today aimed at people who are newer to the idea of maximizing points and miles. This is a good chance to get a taste of the world of points and miles conferences at a very reduced cost. In addition to our presentation, the other FTU-related speakers at this event include Melanie Lieberman of The Points Guy and Victoria Walker, who you may have seen recently in the mainstream media after leaving The Points Guy (it looks like Travel with Vikkie is coming soon!). We look forward to sharing with the crowd and hopefully running into some readers while we’re there!
Can’t wait!
I’ll be there! Looking forward to it.
Bummer, I am running the United Half Marathon this weekend. Maybe you guys can post a summary if not the video? Have a safe trip.
Curses. I fly out of LGA at 5:50 am on Saturday.
Excited to hear you’re back to doing in-person events. Happen to be on a trip of NY this weekend so looking forward to listening in on your event!
Why not allow for those who can’t make it to the event to live stream as a pay-per-view type of arrangement? Some of us would love to be there, but can’t make it due to our schedules, work, family and the disabled. There are a lot of immunodeficient folks who, even though they are vaccinated to the max, can’t yet travel but hope to in the future. I fractured my spine and can’t travel yet, but starting PT soon and am determined to be able to travel again. I’ve got plenty of points/miles, but have been hindered by that and a family member who successfully went through chemo/radiation and therefore immunity is back up to where it needs to be, so I have to be careful to not bring home something that may not affect me. We’re planning for the future and would love to hear about places we may not have traveled to before. We were even given full vaccines 3 times and the family member got special doses made in the lab (didn’t even know they did that). Anyhow, will this somehow, or at least in-depth articles come be offered in the future? Do I have to belong to a special insider’s group to get the goodies? I would have loved to make a trip out of this event, but too short notice for me and too close to PT appointments.
I meant their immunity is not back up to where it needs to be, despite all the vaccines and such.
Sorry to hear that you’re going through such tough times! Wish you a speedy recovery.
As to streaming of the event, that’s an interesting idea that you could suggest to the New York Travel & Adventure Show. We’re just invited speakers rather than organizers of the event.
Why didn’t you come to the one in Los Angeles this past weekend? Would have loved to seen you guys.
