Does anybody have any recommendations for good household items to buy that would be an overall savings (or easy flip)?

I was just looking at paper towels for instance. An 8-pack of Bounty Select-A-Size is $14. Last night I bought a 12-Pack of Bounty Select-A-Size at Walmart with TWICE the sheet-count (effectively 24 rolls) for $17.50.

Even with the $25 savings, I’d be taking a substantial loss by buying paper towels. I find most of Staples to be this way, and when you get into iPads, etc the savings margin drops substantially ($25 off $300 is substantially lower margin than $25 off $100). For the amount of excitement these deals get I feel like I’m missing something obvious. Any recommendations?
