It’s been 2-3 months since Staples last ran a deal on Visa gift cards, but they’ve made a welcome return today with a new deal which is waiving the activation fee on $200 Visa gift cards.
The Deal
- Buy $200 Visa gift cards at Staples with no activation fee.
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires June 13, 2020.
- In-store only.
- Limit 1 per customer.
Quick Thoughts
$200 Visa gift cards sold by Staples usually have a $6.95 activation fee, so that’s what’s being waived here. It means that when you pay with a Chase Ink Cash or Ink Plus card (the latter of which is no longer available for new applications), you’ll earn $10/1,000 Ultimate Rewards per card.
The Dosh app is still offering 2% cashback with a limit of $5 per day at Staples, so it’s worth paying with a card linked in the app. Gift cards are excluded and they clawed back some transactions that previously tracked, but it’s worth a try anyway just in case. Edit: This is only valid on purchases at Staples.com rather than in-store purchases.
[…] kicked things off with $10 off $100+ Visa gift cards a few weeks ago. Staples followed up with fee-free Visa gift cards last week and they return this week with fee-free Mastercard gift […]
Hmm got a little spoiled by the Office Depot deal which was $10 off.
Hey Stephen,
Dosh only offer 2% cash back online not in store. I just went to staples and got a few gift cards(they allow me to buy as many as I wanted fee free)
Didn’t get the dosh 2% or I am missing something?
Ah, you’re right, it was online only rather than in-store too – thanks for the reminder about that.
