If you’re itching to rack up more 5x spend or use up the Staples Amex Offer which expires at the end of this month, Staples is ready to hook you up. That’s because they’re selling $200 Mastercard gift cards this week with no activation fee.

Office supply stores have gone from 0 to 60 200 in no time at all. After a couple of months of no gift card deals due to COVID-19, Office Depot/OfficeMax kicked things off with $10 off $100+ Visa gift cards a few weeks ago. Staples followed up with fee-free Visa gift cards last week and they return this week with fee-free Mastercard gift cards.
Many are wary of Mastercard gift cards due to past issues which include fraud and cards being drained when buying MOs but having those transactions not be authorized. It certainly makes me question if this type of deal is worth my time, but that decision has been taken out of my hands as I don’t have a Staples near me this week.
If you are near a Staples store and are interested in this deal, as always a good payment option is the Chase Ink Cash or Ink Plus card (the latter of which is no longer available). Alternatively, there’s a Staples Amex Offer giving 10% back as a statement credit on up to $500 of spend. That expires on June 30, so this could be a good opportunity to max out that offer if you’ve not used it over the course of the last 5.5 months.
