The southwest portal is absolute crap. They have almost zero direct flights and costs are x2 or x3 more. Be careful!

I wonder if their system is overwhelmed. I went to apply and it is not “taking”. The form is completely filled out, I scrolled through all the terms and conditions, etc.

Just signed up for the Plus with the inflight 50k/$2k-2mos deal in November (to work towards CP with a Business card this month) and now this comes out! Have PM’d Chase to see if they’ll match, but IIRC, they’re not known for matching offers after approval. Guess we’ll see.

Chase is pretty good about matching if the new offer is public and for more points. With this being a Companion Pass rather than points, that doesn’t seem easily match-able. I expect they’ll say no, but please do comment here and let us know either way. Lots of people are curious.

Update: Chase are matching the offer! I just need to reply to their message once I’ve hit the $4,000 minimum spend. This is fantastic news and saves a business application to get to 110k!

MEDC

Update to update – they did themselves a u-turn and decided that I actually wasn’t eligible for the offer and they won’t match it.

Stephen

Is the annual fee waived the first year on any of these

Nick Reyes

No.
