American Express had a 30% bonus when transferring Membership Rewards to Hilton Honors since early last month. Originally, this bonus was targeted, but it appears to be showing in everyone’s account now. Regardless, it won’t be for everyone as it’s still a mediocre value proposition.

Quick Thoughts
Amex normally transfers to Hilton on a 1,000:2,000 basis, so the 30% bonus boosts that ratio to 1,000:2,600. That’s not spectacular value, but if you can maximize your redemptions – especially with the 5th night free benefit – then you can still get some good value by transferring Membership Rewards to Hilton.
There’s been the odd occasion in the past when there have been transfer bonuses that only appear the first time when you log in, but disappear after that like it’s been sponsored by Snapchat. I doubt that’s the case here (I think it only happened with Cathay Pacific in the past), but if this is a bonus that you’ll definitely want to make use of, that’s worth bearing in mind. That said, with the transfer bonus being listed as expiring on December 31, 2023, I find it hard to believe that it won’t be there the next time you log in if you’re seeing it now.

When evaluating this, also factor in that Hilton waives the resort/destination fee if reserved on points or free night certificates. (but not waived for a cash+points award.)
The transfer bonus might be a good value for top hotels which are often 90k points, or 34.6k Amex with this bonus. Those rooms may be $600+, even $1000, plus the waived $35+ fee.
I’ve got a redemption in mind for New Years. It’s not a great cpp but looking forward to the free stay. Seems like this offer is gone. Mariott bonus expires on 11/30/23. Think maybe we will get a Hilton offer after that? And think the Hilton redemption cost could increase in the next 5 days?

Same! I had the offer on Thursday and was doing my research of Hotel to stay with the surprise that is gone today. For those who see it in their accounts, act fast that same day since you might not have it available the following day!
So bizarre. Last night my membership rewards account showed the 30% transfer bonus to Hilton. Today it’s gone!
