Hyatt and American Airlines launched a partnership a couple of years ago and they’ve run intermittent promotions since offering bonus AAdvantage miles on Hyatt stays.

They’ve launched another promotion of that ilk, but unfortunately this time around it’s a targeted offer.

Hyatt American Airlines 1,000 bonus miles per night

The Deal

Quick Thoughts

If you’re lucky enough to be targeted for this offer then it’s a great little bonus seeing as it awards 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles per night rather than per stay. With a somewhat similar promotion in the past (albeit only valid on Hyatt Place and Hyatt House stays back then), the bonus was 1,000 bonus miles per stay.

From what I can remember of that previous promotion, the bonus miles were awarded on both paid and award stays. The terms of this latest promotion don’t make it clear whether that’s the case or not (it only refers to “qualifying” nights), but it’s worth registering regardless if you’re targeted. If you end up earning 1,000 miles per night on award stays, all the better.

The 1,000 bonus miles you’ll earn per night is in addition to all the bonus Hyatt points you can earn from their current Bonus Journeys promotion.

I’m curious if the ‘extra’ 1000 Hyatt pts per night for this promo are still happening? I’d been receiving them pretty consistently with this promo on various stays through mid June but that seems to have stopped now with a stay last weekend. It shows the 3K bonus AA Miles listed but only the base pts and globalist pts have posted. Anyone noticing something else similar?

Aloha808

Is anybody else still getting the unexpected extra Hyatt points? From Gerry and Sashe’s DPs it looks like the folks aren’t getting the extra Hyatt points anymore.

Gerry

Data point for you:

I stayed 2 rewards nights at a Hyatt Regency (8K per night).

Got back 2K AA miles (1K per night) and 2K Hyatt points (1K per night). Plus, due to having the Hyatt credit card, I received 500 points due to this stay. Fantastic promotion indeed

Sashe

Another data point, I used a free night certificate and I have a “points earned” entry on my past activity that says “American Airlines Bonus miles” 1000, thereby totaling my points activity to 1000. HOWEVER, I don’t see any change to my number of Hyatt points. So I think Hyatt doesn’t actually add these points to the total despite including it in the points activity.

Sofia

Same for me. I have 4,000 American Airlines Bonus Miles earned (4 night stay) in my past activity (additional to base points and Q1 promotion). But as Sashe stated, my Hyatt current point balance is off by 4,000 points.

I got both too. for a 4 night stay last week – I got 9K points (4,000 from AA, and 5,000 from Bonus Journeys). Happy to show you the folio.

Aloha808

That’s the amount of points you’re supposed to get. I think what the update is saying is that there are some lucky folks out there that would’ve gotten 9k Hyatt points and 4k AA miles from a stay like yours.

Aloha808

I apologize if I misunderstood you… are you saying you got 9k Hyatt points?

kathy (willrunformiles)

YES!!!

“ Earn 1,000 bonus AAdvantage miles on Hyatt stays.”
You’re mixing your “stay” language with your “nights” language. Big difference. It should read “per night” for this promotion. Too confusing as written.

Mike Saint

I got 7,000 HYATT points vs. American Airlines AAdvantage miles for this promo. It wasn’t the bonus journey’s promo as I got those points too. So it sounds like they got it backwards.

Arvin

“Guest must enter a valid World of Hyatt membership number at time of registration and pay an Eligible Rate.”

Does this mean award bookings won’t get the bonus?

AzLarry

Any way to get targeted if not already? My P2 is globalist but only at 40 nights now, with no concierge. Should get to 60 in a month or so. Hyatt and AA accounts are already linked but didn’t get the offer.

(I got the offer and already have a concierge. Currently we both have 15 night stays so it works great for my account, but would like P2 to earn bonus AA miles as well!)

joe

I stayed at a Hyatt Place this weekend and my account was credited extra 1000 Hyatt points because of this promotion(it was described as American Airlines bonus miles). I wonder if they got it backwards?

Aloha808

Most likely that’s the Hyatt Bonus Journeys promo (part II)

Not sure, happy nonetheless, received 3500 points on a 5000 point stay.

Aloha808

wow that’s a lot, sounds like something else actually

David

you can stack the Hyatt new hotels promo (now 1000, used to be 500).
