There’s a new Membership Rewards transfer bonus available for Asia Miles (Cathay Pacific’s loyalty scheme) offering a bonus of up to 30%. This appears to be highly targeted and might need to be used quickly if you’re interested as last time this was available, it disappeared within a few days.
The Deal
- Transfer American Express Membership Rewards to Cathay Pacific Asia Miles on the following basis:
- 1,000:1,100
- 1,000:1,150
- 1,000:1,200
- 1,000:1,300
Key Terms
- Expiry date unknown (but it might not last long).
Quick Thoughts
American Express offered a transfer bonus to Asia Miles about 6 months ago, but it was short lived. So short in fact that after viewing the offer once, it seemed to disappear for the few people that were targeted for it. For others, it only seemed to last a few days, rather than other bonuses like Hilton Honors that last for several weeks.
Greg, Nick and I weren’t targeted for this offer and nor were our partners, so this transfer bonus doesn’t appear to be widely available. Given the disappearing offer last time, it might be best to transfer your Membership Rewards ASAP if you’re interested.
If it’s been a while since you redeemed Asia Miles, Cathay Pacific devalued their award chart last year, so check that out to ensure you’ll have enough miles for an award.
What are AsiaMiles rounting rules like? Do they allow stopovers?
I’m personally not familiar with the Asia Miles scheme, but Greg had a good post about maximizing their award chart last year which also provides links to some other posts about the scheme. https://frequentmiler.com/toward-hacking-asia-miles-the-unified-oneworld-award-chart/
It’s long dead. Lol
This seems to be a new offer rather than the one that was available 6 months ago.
Exactly. It was available yesterday. It’s dead today.
I’m curious then if it’s working in the same way as the last Asia Miles offer. That one seemed to be available for several days, but it disappeared after viewing it for the first time. If so, that might mean it’s still alive but appears to be dead for people that had noticed they’d been targeted yesterday.
Wrong on this as well.
