World of Hyatt is offering triple points on eligible spend at participating restaurants at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts. This offer is meant to reward you for dining at Hyatt properties when you’re not staying there as charges billed to your room / folio do not count. This could be a nice deal if you want to dine at or order takeout from a nearby Hyatt property.
The Deal
- Starting September 15, 2022, World of Hyatt members can once again treat themselves when dining close to home by earning triple points on eligible spend for dine-in, takeout or delivery (where available) at participating restaurants at Hyatt hotels and resorts – now through December 20, 2022.
- Charges billed to a room or folio do not count towards promotion.

Quick Thoughts
If you’ll be dining at a Hyatt property during the promotion (but not staying there), it certainly would be nice to pick up a few extra points per dollar spent. There is no registration required, just be sure to provide your World of Hyatt membership number at the time of purchase.
Keep in mind though that not all dining outlets are participating and that you can not settle the bill with Hyatt gift cards (which probably isn’t possible at a restaurant when not staying at the hotel?). You’ll want to verify participating with the restaurant in advance to make sure you’ll get triple points
[…] had totally forgotten that Hyatt was running a promotion for triple points on dining expenses if you weren’t a hotel guest. I earned 15X points + the 10% Discoverist bonus, which ended up being 3,488 World of Hyatt Points. […]
Does this work at MGM properties if I am not staying at them?
I might have bit on this for a downtown after-work hors d’oeuvre or something as the holidays get closer, but at least in my location, they seem to have done a pretty good job filtering out the kinds of places where locals are likely to do that.
If I am Hyatt staying or not, I will use my Chase Hyatt card. I don’t get the POINTS of this promotion. By the way, I am staying at Hyatt next weekend with a rooftop restaurant with a view of Mississippi and using my Chase Hyatt card.
You can use whatever card you want. You’ll get points on your credit card *and additional points* with this promotion.
This one has me totally confused.
There’s no connection with the Chase World of Hyatt Visa card?
So basically the idea is, whether you are staying in the Hyatt hotel or not, use the best restaurant card you have — we’ll be using the 15x MR Resy offer Amex Plat during this period — then reap an additional 3x Hyatt points as well.
Assuming that someone at a restaurant — a waiter? a host or hostess? — knows what to do with your World of Hyatt membership number.
(This is without wondering who goes to eat at the many Hyatt Places that are included on the website.)
Yes. At participating restaurants, they’ll know how to put in your Hyatt number (being located within a Hyatt property likely means that they are familiar with World of Hyatt). And yes, it will stack with your credit card points. It has nothing to do with the Hyatt credit card — this is just a promotion meant to encourage World of Hyatt members to eat at restaurants at Hyatt hotels. Presumably it is aimed at people who live near Hyatt hotels – so they wouldn’t be staying at the hotel but could still choose to dine there and this gives them an incentive to do so.
So if I am staying on property and order food, I could use P2’s account (as well as WOH card) to be eligible right?
Yeah, but I’m not sure why you’d do that over charging it to your room to earn 5 base points plus an elite bonus.
When they ran this promo previously, I got 5 base points for the meal itself, the Globalist bonus, and then the additional bonus points. So I think members get the 5 base points even from the meals themselves, even if not staying. From my Hyatt account:
Total points: 2409
Qualifying spend: $146
Base points: 730
Globalist 30% Bonus: 219
Non-Stay F&B Triple Points: 1460
