Quick Thoughts
A lot of the routes eligible for $31.40/3,140 mile fares are fairly short and so likely aren’t too expensive right now anyway, but I’m sure these prices are still lower than they would be normally.
The opportunity to book award flights for 3,140 miles on United could be particularly interesting because of the potential of putting the Excursionist Perk to good use. Check out these posts for more about how that feature of United’s MileagePlus program works:
- Saving thousands of miles with United Excursionist Perk
- Maximizing (and understanding) United Excursionist Perks
- United Excursionist Perk Maps. Visualize regions to optimize awards.
- Fly around Japan for 5K each way, and add a free Excursion [Sweet-spot spotlight]
Even though this is a Pi Day sale, you have until tomorrow (March 15) to make your reservations. Flights have to be completed by June 5, 2021, so that doesn’t provide too much opportunity to take advantage of the Excursionist Perk for flights overseas.
