Update 6/2/22: American Airlines has increased to 4x and United has decreased to 2x (it was 6x yesterday).

Update from Nick 6/1/22: Marriott is once again 6x on United Mileage Plus Shopping (note: if you’re playing the American Airlines Loyalty point game, it is alternatively 3x on AAdvantage eShopping). I just cancelled and rebooked a reservation I made yesterday to get 6x on my stay. As an added bonus, the price per night had decreased enough to save me a nice slice of cash. The original post follows.
If you were planning on booking stays with Marriott, today could be a good day to do that as the United shopping portal is offering an increased rate of 6 MileagePlus miles per dollar.

United shopping portal 6x Marriott stays

The Deal

  • Earn 6x United MileagePlus miles on Marriott stays after clicking through from the United shopping portal.
  • Direct link to offer.

Key Terms

  • Expiry date unknown (possibly 6/1/22)

Quick Thoughts

Airline shopping portals rarely offer more than 1x for Marriott stays, so earning 6 MileagePlus miles per dollar is a great return compared to what you’d usually get. In fact, there have only been five other days in the last 15 months where airline portals have offered more than 3x miles per dollar for Marriott.

Cashback Monitor Marriott historical rates

The United shopping portal is a little unusual because it sometimes offers better portal rates to people who have a United credit card. That’s not the case with this increased Marriott rate though – you’ll earn 6x regardless of whether or not you have a United credit card.

If booking a paid Marriott stay, don’t forget that there are two Marriott Amex Offers – one giving $50 back when spending $250 at some of their brands and the other giving $100 back when spending $500 at their higher end brands.

Also bear in mind that clicking through from a shopping portal means that you’re booking with Marriott directly. That means you earn points, elite night credits, receive status benefits, etc.
