Daily reader of your site and love it. Question – so what’s the strategy here when these types of things come up but you don’t necessarily have a reason to buy from any of the retailers being offered? Say, the flowers at 30x, how do you go about maximizing that without losing the value by spending when you wouldn’t normally be spending?

To be honest, I usually just let these deals go by without participating if I don’t have anything to buy. With some merchants (like Sears) where I know that I can get points for buying gift cards, I’ll sometimes stock up on some with the expectation that I’ll put them to good use later.
