UPDATE: 60K and 30K links are now live

I just received a tip from a reader who works for Chase that the Ink cards will have improved signup bonuses, starting today, for a limited time.  The bonuses will be as follows:

  • Chase Ink Plus: 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $5K spend in 3 months (usual bonus: 50K)
  • Chase Ink Bold: 60,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $5K spend in 3 months (usual bonus: 50K)
  • Chase Ink Cash: 30,000 Ultimate Rewards points after $3K spend in 3 months (usual bonus: 20K)

As soon as I can, I’ll update the links on my Best Credit Card Offers page.  Keep in mind that these are business cards, so please see “How to signup for Chase Ink cards” if you have questions about whether you can qualify, or how to fill out the application.

Live… where? still the 50k link for plus

Ray

I have a number of Chase accounts – one of them is an AirTran account ($25k limit) that I want to cancel. Should I cancel that first before applying for the Chase Ink cards or leave it open till I get the Ink? Please help.

Frequent Miler

This is a tough question to answer:

If you cancel first, you may have a slightly better chance at getting automatically approved (since it will lower the amount of credit Chase has already extended to you). If you are not automatically approved, though, it can be useful to have a card like that as a bargaining chip when talking to their reconsideration department. By offering to cancel that card in favor of a new one, they may be more likely to approve you at that point.

Mario

Called Chase recon and they replied: Sir, you have too many inquiries in the last 12 months and many outstanding charges. Sorry we are unable to approve your request at this time. Good luck to whoever gets approved

JW

May I ask how many inquiries you had in the last 12 months? Reading FT comments re: this new deal, Chase seemed to be tougher now. Your data point will be greatly appreciated!

Unknown

Awesome – now how long will this deal be around possibly? I did a churn almost 2 months ago now so can’t do another for a month, but I want to change Ink Bold MC to Visa for another bonus of course!

Frequent Miler

My informant said that it will last until the end of May, but I don’t have any official info from Chase about that.

Gabriel

How soon is “limited time”? I ask because I currently have ~15k UR points that are going to post to my Ink Bold in 3 days and I really don’t want to sacrifice those in order to gain an extra 10k bonus points on an Ink Plus card…

Frequent Miler

My informant said thru end of month

Gabriel

Thanks for the info! This will time PERFECTLY for me then! :D:D

Jason Kusner

If I have an ink bold MasterCard can I get a bold visa using the same ssn?

Frequent Miler

Yes. In my case, I cancelled my MasterCard before applying for the Visa version, but I’ve heard from readers who have signed up for both. An even safer approach is to get the Ink Plus since that is clearly a different card than the Ink Bold.

ChrisFlyer

I just got an Ink plus two weeks ago. Do you think I can get them to match the higher bonus if I send them a secure message?

Frequent Miler

definitely worth a try

ChrisFlyer

I sent them a message and they were happy to match the higher bonus for me.

Ben

Did the charge you the yearly fee to increase the bonus?

Frequent Miler

Awesome!

oldporkchops

Just checked the Ink Plus website. Still shows the 50k bonus. Will check back later today. Thanks so very much for this timely information.

Mauricio

I have the Chase Ink Bold Visa now and have held the Chase Ink Plus MC before, do you think they will approve me for the Ink Plus Visa version now?

Frequent Miler

I can’t say whether you’ll be approved. That depends on your credit score, info about your income and business, etc. However, if the question is whether you can qualify for the bonus again, the answer is yes. The Visa cards are considered a new product.

Hi FM,

Thanks for the awesome head’s up. Did your reader have any idea of the timing / when the offer might become available?

Thanks!

Frequent Miler

Should be sometime today.
