Amazon is offering an incentive to order today via the Amazon app: get up to $70 off a future purchase based on your cumulative orders today only (6/22). This is a targeted promotion, but it seems that many people are eligible (though it’s a little difficult to know for sure – see more detail below). This would make a great stack with various credit card discounts and/or 10% back via the Point Debit card.
The Deal
- Amazon is offering targeted customers up to $70 off a future purchase based on cumulative purchases today (6/22 only) via the Amazon app as follows:
- Spend $200, get $15 off a future purchase
- Spend $300, get $25 off a future purchase
- Spend $600, get $70 off a future purchase
- Direct link to this promotion (if you see the deal when clicking through, that should mean you are targeted, but YMMV)
Key Terms
- Offer begins 12:01 a.m. (PT) June 22, 2021 and ends 23:59 p.m. (PT) June 22, 2021.
- Eligible Prime members who make a purchase in the Amazon mobile shopping app in the offer period are eligible to receive a coupon for up to $70 USD in Amazon credit. Customers who (i) spend $200 USD will receive a coupon for $15 USD, (ii) spend $300 USD will receive a coupon for $25 USD and (iii) spend $600 USD will receive a coupon for $70 USD, to use towards purchases on Amazon in accordance with these terms.
- Gift card purchases, fees, taxes, discounts, gift wrap and shipping and handling costs are excluded when determining the total amount spent. Customers will not receive credit for cancelled or returned orders.
- US customers only. To be eligible, customers must receive notice of this offer directly from Amazon through the Amazon website or email and visit the campaign page on June 22, 2021. Customers who are forwarded this offer from parties other than Amazon are not eligible for this offer.
- Amazon will provide a notification that indicates the dollar amount of the coupon received based on the total amount spent, excluding gift card purchases, fees, taxes, discounts, gift wrap and shipping and handling costs. This notification will also provide the link and further instructions on how to redeem the coupon.
- Coupons expire 11:59 p.m. (PT) July 24, 2021.
- The maximum benefit customers may receive from this offer is $70 USD. Offer is limited to one per customer and account. Coupons may only be applied to orders made in the Amazon shopping app for products sold by Amazon.com or Amazon.com Services LLC (look for “sold by Amazon.com” or “sold by Amazon.com Services LLC ” on the product detail page). Coupons may not be used for products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities, even if “fulfilled by Amazon.com” or “Prime Eligible”, digital content or Amazon Gift Cards.
- Coupons are non-transferable, may not be resold and may not be combined with other offers.
- Shipping charges and taxes may apply to discounted and free promotional items.
- Coupon value will be allocated proportionally among all eligible items in the order.
- If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, refunds will equal the amount paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies.
- Offer good while supplies last.
- Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time. If any of these terms are violated, the offer and any coupons will be invalid.
Quick Thoughts
First, this is obviously a great deal for those targeted as the future discount represents ~7-10% off (since you’re effectively getting $15 off of $215 in purchases, $25 off of $325 in purchases, or $70 off of $670 in purchases, albeit in the form of part of those purchases coming in the future).
Knowing whether or not you are targeted is the big question mark. I think that if you see the landing page (screen shot at the top), it means you are targeted. I’m basing that assumption on this post at Slickdeals and also based on a test: I visited the page from a browser where I’m logged in and I saw the landing page and was able to enter my email address to email myself a link to download the Amazon app (which I already have, but I’m guessing the being able to send it to myself from the promo page means I was targeted?). I also tried visiting the landing page in a browser in which I was not logged in to Amazon.
I followed the prompt to sign in and it brought up the landing page for the promo. I take that to mean I am targeted. YMMV.
As noted at the top, this will stack nicely with the various offers to use 1 credit card point and get a good discount (especially since this is based on cumulative purchases, so do the Chase offer, the Citi offer, the Amex offer, etc and add them all up!). For more detail on the available credit card promos, see our Amazon Prime Day Deals 2021 post. If you have used all of those already, it would alternatively stack well with 10% back in points (up to $50 back on $500) via the Point Debit Card.

Well crap. I placed a $500 order this morning through the website
Great Find Nick!
Do you need to make all of these purchases from Amazon.com Services LLC in order to qualify for this offer?
Most offers only count products sold directly from Amazon, but the terms for this offer don’t appear to exclude purchases from marketplace sellers from contributing to the $200 / $300 / $600 total…
Amazon confirmed via support chat that purchases from third party sellers do contribute towads the $200 / $300 / $600 total.
They also confirmed my eligibility for the offer. It may be good to confirm both of these points with Amazon via support chat and document the chat.
