If you’re shopping Amazon Prime Day Deals and you recently opened the Point Debit Card, you’re in luck: the Point debit card is now offering 10x points on Amazon purchases (worth 10% back) up to 5,000 points ($50 in points back on $500). While not as big a percentage as many of the deals available when using points, this can be a nice deal on a larger purchase (even stack it with those Warehouse Deals at 25% off).

Quick Thoughts

I included this in the last Amazon Prime Day 2021 update, but I thought it was worth a dedicated post as well since this is such a solid deal and I imagine that many readers have likely opened accounts because of the referral deal offering $100 after first purchase and $100 for referring someone, which becomes an easy $202 money-maker in 2-player mode (see Stephen’s post about it here). The nice thing is that funding Point with a debit card is instant, so you should be able to fuel up your Point account if need be to take advantage of this deal.

One thing to keep in mind is that points are currently worth $0.01 each. I don’t think Point has any nefarious devaluation plans, but it’s worth noting that they advertise deals like this one as “10x points” rather than “10% back” — likely in part because they reserve the right to change the value of points at any time. I don’t recommend stacking up a huge quantity of Point points but rather cashing out as you go just in case they change the value of points. Again, I have no reason to think that they plan to do this, but I thought it was worth mentioning that I wouldn’t recommend holding Point points for the long-haul.

Overall, sweet deal to stack with Prime Day.
