Virgin Atlantic Award Seat Sale

Virgin Atlantic has launched an award seat sale with economy and premium economy routes being reduced by 30%. According to Head for Points, the rates are already discounted, however the sale isn’t mentioned on the Virgin Atlantic website as of yet.

Things to Know

  • Taxes and fees aren’t discounted.
  • There are no discounts on Virgin’s Upper Class.

Sample Redemption

Normally New York to London costs 35,000 miles roundtrip in economy, however during this sale it is reduced to 24,500 miles. Keep in mind that Virgin does charge hefty taxes and surcharges. For example, taxes for an economy roundtrip between the U.S. and London will be more than $400. You may save some money by booking as two one-way awards instead.

JFK-LHR costs 445 USD in economy return. But the JFK – LHR leg I s 134 USD. I find value in booking one way tickets with flying club and the utilizing other points or Norwegian to get back. All dates I tried are available including Christmas and peak summer.
