A few months ago, Wells Fargo launched a brand new credit card. If you’re a Wells Fargo Premier checking account holder, you might be able to apply for a Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Visa Infinite card.
This is a card that’s very similar to the Autograph Journey card, but has a few key enhancements, one of which is a much better welcome offer right now.

Quick Thoughts
The first thing to address here is the name of the card. Although it’s called the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Visa Infinite, it’s almost identical to the Autograph Journey card rather than the no annual fee Autograph card. It’s therefore a little surprising that they didn’t name it the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Journey Visa Infinite card.
In terms of the differences between this card and the Autograph Journey, one of the key ones is the welcome offer. The offer for the Premier version of the card is 100,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months of card membership that transfer to Wells Fargo’s travel partners. The Autograph Journey card requires the same amount of spend, but only awards 60,000 bonus points (but which also transfer to partners). Considering they have the same annual fee, it’s definitely worth getting the Premier version if you’re eligible if for no other reason than the extra 40,000 bonus points alone. Although it’s not the only use for them, 100,000 Wells Fargo points can be transferred to be 200,000 Choice Privileges or Wyndham Rewards points which is far beyond any kind of welcome offer we ever see for their own cards.
As the name suggests, the Wells Fargo Premier Autograph Visa Infinite card is a Visa Infinite card. That provides a better level of protections for things like trip cancellation and trip interruption, as well as slightly better car rental coverage. It also comes with an up to $120 credit towards Global Entry each year; while that’s a benefit on many other cards nowadays, it’ll be nice to have for those who don’t otherwise have a card that provides a Global Entry credit.
Here’s the (slight) kicker though. There’s no public landing page to apply for this Premier Autograph card, even if you’re a Wells Fargo Premier checking account holder. That said, it does seem like they’re widely targeting Premier checking account holders in the Wells Fargo app and on their website, so keep an eye out for the offer when logging in, as well as on the credit card page while logged in.
Something worth being aware of is that although you need to have $250K on deposit with Wells Fargo to be a Premier member, you don’t need that in order to get a Premier checking account; it just means you’ll be on the hook for the $35 monthly fee. Reader Paul mentioned that his Premier checking monthly fees were waived for the first six months after upgrading his account in-branch, although YMMV. He also saw targeted offers for 50K bonus points on the no annual fee Autograph card and $500 on a 2% card (presumably the Active Cash) in his Wells Fargo account.

So you need 250K in their accounts to even apply?
No – you can get a Premier account even without Premier status
