Wyndham Rewards launched a new initiative today that’s awarding every single member of its loyalty program the ability to upgrade their elite status level by one tier through the end of the year. If you already have top-tier Diamond status, you’ll be able to earn 50x on all paid stays through the end of 2025.

The Deal
- Increase your Wyndham Rewards status level by one tier, or earn an extra 5x on paid stays as an existing Diamond member.
- Direct link to registration – non-Diamond members.
- Direct link to registration – Diamond members.
Key Terms
- Membership level increase expires December 31, 2025.
- Diamond member 5x offer
- Valid on all paid stays through December 31, 2025.
- Diamond members who register can earn up to 60,000 bonus points with this offer.
Quick Thoughts
This is a very smart initiative by Wyndham. Offering every loyalty program member a status boost will engender lots of good will, even if most never get a chance to take advantage of it. For the average person who wouldn’t normally stay in hotels enough to earn elite status organically and who doesn’t have any hotel credit cards that offer status, they might get unreasonably excited about suddenly having Gold status with Wyndham.
This should be a win-win all round. Wyndham Rewards members get a taste of elite status through the end of the year, while Wyndham gets to offer this at very little cost to them.
I don’t believe the upgraded statuses will cost them much because members have to claim the status boost and many people simply won’t. Many of those who do register won’t end up staying with Wyndham before December 31. Then those who do stay at least once by the end of the year won’t cost the company much because Wyndham elite status counts for very little in the grand scheme of things. Here’s a list of the benefits at each level:

What could be interesting is what will happen for those of you who currently have Platinum status, especially if it was earned organically. You’ll be getting an upgrade to Diamond status, so I’m curious if you’ll be able to parlay that into Caesars Rewards Diamond status. I suspect not because Wyndham status that hasn’t been earned through nights stayed (e.g. such as status earned via a Wyndham credit card) isn’t eligible for Caesars status matches anymore. However, perhaps this status upgrade offer will appear differently on their systems and so it might look like it was earned organically, especially if the underlying Platinum status was earned organically.
For those who already have top-tier Diamond status, you’ll earn 5x points on your stays through the end of 2025. It looks like the registration process for Diamond members is a little different as you’ll receive an email from Wyndham, or you can activate it in the ‘My Promotions’ section of your account. I’m a Diamond member and can’t find the ‘My Promotions’ section on my account, so I’ll just wait to receive an email invitation from Wyndham. Update: I just received the invitation and have included a link to the registration page for Diamond members above.
Wyndham normally awards 10x points per dollar, so I’d wondered if that meant you’d earn a total of 15x. However, we’ve confirmed with Wyndham that the 10x will be quintupled and so you’ll earn a total of 50x on paid stays.
For example, let’s say you book a two night stay costing $100 per night (ignoring taxes and fees). That would cost you a total of $200, so you’d earn 2,000 base points and an additional 8,000 bonus points for a total of 10,000 points. In addition to that, you’d earn a 20% bonus on the base points courtesy of having Diamond status which is an extra 400 bonus points, so a total of 10,400 points.
That’s an excellent return which can be made even better thanks to this promotion. That’s awarding 7,500 bonus points for every two nights you stay, with up to 30,000 bonus points available. Cardholders can also earn a one time bonus of 7,500 bonus points. Using the aforementioned scenario of two nights costing $100, a cardholder with existing Diamond status would also earn 15,000 points on top of the 10,400 points for a total of 25,400 points. If you paid with a Wyndham Rewards Earner Business card, you’d earn 8x on the $200 spend for an additional 1,600 bonus points, so 27,000 points total. That’s conveniently the number of points needed for two nights at a 15,000 points per night hotel when taking into account the 10% discount cardholders receive on award stays.
An alternative to paying with a Wyndham credit card is paying with a card with one of the Wyndham Amex Offers loaded to it. There’s a variety of Amex Offers depending on whether the property you’re staying at is regarded as luxury, midscale, or value.

Now that Vacasa option is ending, what is the best use of the Wyndham points? Not sure I want them anymore.
Wyndham stays worldwide, Cottages.com in the UK or you can transfer them to Caesars. There was a fairly good transfer option to United miles recently, but the transfer bonus that made that better value has since ended.
I’ve been able to use them this year at an AI property in Mexico. Paid 27k pts/night (after 10% discount) for dates that were ~$450/night otherwise. That particular property got sold off, but they have other AIs that might offer decent value if that’s something you’re interested in.
The email I received says “5X multiplier applies to base points only”
Yep – you earn 10x base points, so the 5x multiplier makes that 50x.
ah thanks – I’m seeing Wyndhams near me for $53/nt. By my math, staying 2 nights would mean 21510 points, after the promotions and 5x and spend on the Wyndham card. That is worth ~$172, more than the $120.44
Don’t forget ~3% cashback from a shopping portal too 🙂
Oh, and I’d completely forgotten about the variety of Wyndham Amex Offers at the moment.
Only getting the 5x offer. I am Diamond thru Business Earner
Your chart shows Caesar Rewards status match for Diamond and Platinum…is that back? I had thought that was gone earlier this year.
I don’t think the ability to match status between the two ever went away. What ended was the ability to match from the status you have via a Wyndham credit card.
This sounds potentially worthy of a mattress run? I’m wondering how affordably I might be able to get into a Wyndham property for 2 nights (50% of a low number is of course a lot less, but as the cherry on top of the 15k bonus for 2 nights…)
Any possible crossover stackable between Wyndham and either the Chase or Amex hotel coupon credits through their FHR or Edit programs? I haven’t kept up with whether those are currently allowing you to receive elite benefits (and earn points) or still being treated as “3rd Party reservations”…
“Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this offer….” I’m already diamond from cc and apparently not eligible for the diamond exclusive offer of 50x?
We’re trying to get clarification on this – it looks like there’s an error with registration on Wyndham’s end for Diamond members
I have diamond from CC only, and just registered. Amusingly, I got “you’re already registered”, but I still hit the button anyway.
Not eligible. Got diamond from credit card
Upgraded Platinum (From Earner+ card) to Diamond. No planned Wyndham stays until the end of the year, but will look for match opportunities.
Diamond member through Wyndham Biz Earner. I get this… Unfortunately, you aren’t eligible for this offer. Check out the Terms & Conditions below for details and visit the Offers page or My Account to see more promotions.
Yep, the terms & conditions state that Diamond members will receive an email, or that you can find a registration link in the ‘My Promotions’ section of your account, but there’s no such section that I can find. We’ve asked our rep if there’s a direct link to that page for Diamond members.
There is link in the app but not eligible after clicking
I just got the email and clicked through on PC and am registered. I stay at 0 Wyndhams/year so my status is fully CC (only use Wyndham for Vacasa…I know, I know).
