(EXPIRED) Wyndham Rewards Flash Sale: Up To 25% Off When Booking Via App (Desktop Workaround Available Too)

Wyndham Rewards is running a flash sale which is offering up to 25% off when booking a 2+ night stay using their app.

Unlike some offers where they advertise savings like this which turn out to be a damp squib, there are some very real savings to be had here depending on the property. Even better, there’s a workaround where you can book on desktop rather than the app which means you can stack with shopping portal cashback.

• Get 25% off the Best Available Rate when booking a stay of 2+ nights using the Wyndham Rewards app.

• The Mobile App 25% Off Sale (“Mobile App Sale”) is available at participating hotels in the United States and Canada for stays booked on the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts App between November 24, 2020 and December 1, 2020, and completed by January 18, 2021. New bookings only; not applicable to group bookings. Reservations with this rate must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. To search for the Mobile App Sale discount at desired participating hotel, first select the Mobile App Sale tile in the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts App and then the “Book Now” button to begin searching.
• Savings of 25% are discounted from a participating hotel’s Best Available Rate, excluding taxes, resort/service fees, incidentals, gratuities, or additional per room, per night charges that may be imposed. “Best Available Rate” is defined as the best, non-qualified, unrestricted, publicly available rate on the brand sites for the hotel, date and accommodation requested. Stay must have a minimum length of stay of two (2) nights. Reservation can be canceled at least three (3) days before arrival. Reservations canceled within three (3) days of arrival date and no-shows will be charged first night plus tax.
• Blackout dates, room type exclusions and other restrictions may apply and vary by individual hotel. Offer availability limited to participating hotels and is subject to availability at such hotels. It is possible that the Mobile App Sale will not be available at certain hotels on all applicable dates. Quick Thoughts

I usually take these types of sales with a grain of salt as the advertised savings usually aren’t all they’re hyped up to be. In this case though, there are definitely some savings to be had, although it depends on the property.

I’d written before that I need to book an upcoming stay in Montgomery, AL. I’d been procrastinating on actually making a reservation which turned out to be a good thing as it’s actually going to save me a few bucks for once.

A couple of hotels I’d been looking at were the Microtel and La Quinta as both are pet-friendly. Here’s their listed price today on desktop…

…and here are their prices in the app.

As you can see, the Microtel is cheaper, but the La Quinta is listed as being more expensive. That $72.25 rate is available in the app, but it’s a non-refundable rate, with the $80.75 rate being a refundable one.

The Microtel is the property I’m more interested in booking. When clicking through in the app, here are the rate options for their standard 1 queen room.

The member rate is a 10% discount on the Best Available Rate, with the ‘App Flash Sale’ rate being a 25% discount. That’s helpful for me because the cheapest rate when I wrote that previous Wyndham post was $56.32 per night before tax and it’s gone up since then.

I noticed something even more interesting during this search process though. When doing a search on the app, it automatically included a special rate code – 1000050287.

I entered this code in the Corporate Code section when doing a search on my laptop and voilà – the app pricing was now available on desktop.

That could be particularly useful because it means you can then stack the flash sale savings with cashback through a shopping portal. Very few portals are offering cashback for Wyndham brands right now and some are only available on certain Wyndham brands. I’m hopeful though that clicking through to Days Inn from TopCashback and booking the Microtel will still track. If not, I’ve not lost anything as I can still take advantage of the app savings on desktop.
