(EXPIRED) (Update: Extended Through 10/2/20) Wyndham: Stay 2 nights, get 7500 points

Update 9/14/20: Wyndham Rewards has extended this promotion through October 2, 2020, so that gives you an extra few weeks to take advantage of the promotion if you didn’t use it before it was originally due to expire on September 10.

They’ve also extended the date you need to register by to September 30, so if you hadn’t registered previously you still have an opportunity to do that.

The bonus points should post to your account quickly too in case you’d be counting on those to book a future award stay. Although the terms state that you might have to wait two to four weeks for the 7,500 points to show up, they appeared in my account a day or two after a two night stay at a Days Inn recently.

Wyndham Rewards is offering a promo to stay 2 nights and earn 7,500 bonus points when you register and complete your stay by September 10 October 2, 2020. This stacks on top of the current offer to get 2,000 points per stay through July 28th, which could make it a solid deal in some scenarios.

Key Terms

• Maximum of one (1) Bonus per Member, regardless of how many stays are completed by a Member during the Promotion Period.. A no-show does not count as an Offer Qualifying Stay.
• To qualify for this offer to receive 7,500 Wyndham Rewards bonus points (“Offer”) and receive such bonus points (the “Bonus”), a Wyndham Rewards Member must:
  1. Register for the Offer by completing the registration process on wyndhamrewards.com, wyndhamhotels.com or any of the official brand websites of any participating Hotel Chain, or through the “My Promotions” section of his or her Wyndham Rewards Member account on wyndhamrewards.com or the Wyndham Rewards mobile app, in each case, between July 16, 2020 and September 8 September 30, 2020 (the “Promotion Period”);
  2. Book a Qualified Stay of two (2) or more consecutive nights at a Participating Hotel on wyndhamrewards.com, wyndhamhotels.com, any of the official brand websites of any participating Hotel Chain, the Wyndham Rewards mobile app, or via the official toll free reservation number of Wyndham Rewards or any of the participating Hotel Chains, or directly with a Participating Hotel
  3. Begin such stay no earlier than July 16, 2020 and complete it no later than September 10 October 2, 2020 (an “Offer Qualifying Stay”).
• Members must register for the Offer before completing their Qualified Stay during the Promotion Period in order for it to count toward this Offer, and any stay that has a check-in date prior to July 16, 2020, and/or a check-out date after September 10 October 2, 2020, will not be counted towards the Offer.
• Stays at Participating Caesars Entertainment Properties, vacation club resorts and vacation rentals, are not eligible for this Offer.
• Go Fast award stays are also not eligible for this Offer.
• Qualified Stays are subject to certain restrictions, including, without limitation, that such stays cannot be booked via any third party website; see the Program Terms for more information about Qualified Stays at Participating Hotels.
• A Member who is eligible to receive a Bonus pursuant to these Offer Terms will typically receive it within two to four weeks after the completion of the applicable Offer Qualifying Stay.

Quick Thoughts

This is marketed as “Stay 2 nights & earn a free night“. That is because some Wyndham properties only charge 7,500 points. However, remember that Wyndham properties range in price from 7500 to 30,000 points per night.

Still, with this promotion, members can get back half the points for a free night at many properties after staying two nights. You’ll do a bit better yet if your stay is completed before July 28th since you can register for the current promotion to get 2,000 points per stay up to 5 stays.

Keep in mind that the minimum nightly rate for a “qualified stay” according to the Wyndham Rewards Program terms is $25.00 before taxes & fees.

If you have a particularly cheap Wyndham nearby, it might make sense to mattress run this one. Personally, I wouldn’t mattress run it for more than a penny per point and I’d not even buy Wyndham points at that price given the fact that I have no plans to use Wyndham points anytime soon. On the other hand, if you have a good use in mind, it might make sense for you.
