There is new highly targeted Amex Offer out today that’s good for $100 back on $400 or more on flights operated by Delta Air Lines and booked at AmexTravel.com. I didn’t find this on any cards in my household, but Stephen Pepper found it on one in his. This could be a terrific deal if you’ve got the offer.

Quick Thoughts

For once in my life, I’d actually like to fly Delta for some trips I need to take this fall and I didn’t get this offer on any of the cards in my household.

It’s a little odd to see this offer structured as it is: you’ll get the credit if booking Delta-operated flights via AmexTravel.com. In the past, we’ve seen Delta offers good when booking through Delta and we’ve occasionally seen generic Amex Travel offers, but the requirement to book flights operated by a specific airline through Amex Travel is new as best I can recall. Perhaps this could be advantageous if it were possible to book a Delta operated flight that is marketed by a partner if you’re able to find a way to earn more miles. Absent of that, I suppose just saving 25% on a flight would be pretty welcome for a lot of folks as it isn’t usually easy to save a hundred bucks on a flight.

Note that the terms indicate that this offer is only available on Platinum and Business Platinum cards, but let us know if you find it on any other cards.

Does anyone know if credits from AmexTravel can be combined with credits from Delta.com or if they have to be used through the agency that they were issued from exclusively?

Remember when delta tried to suppress votes.

Not on my Platinum or my Delta Reserve.

I don’t know that I have a use for it before the expiration so… Any reason to think I can’t find a ~$400 economy ticket, book it, wait past the 24 hour cancellation window and then cancel thus locking in the $100 savings on delta e-credit? And I believe delta e-credits won’t expire until the end of next year.
