A couple of new Amex Offers appeared yesterday that are each good for two different Hilton brands. The first is good at Waldorf Astoria and Conrad properties, while the second can be used when paying for DoubleTree and Tapestry stays. The statement credits are for slightly lower percentages than normal but can still represent some good savings when paying for stays at these brands, especially seeing as you should be able to specifically choose a Hilton credit card to load the offers to.

DoubleTree & Tapestry Amex Offer Spend $250 & Get $40 Back

Quick Thoughts

These offers are a little different to normal Amex Offers for Hilton brands as they usually offer statement credits worth 20% of the minimum spend required to meet the threshold to trigger the offer. For example, there’s an Amex Offer for Tru that’s running at the moment giving $30 back (or 3,000 Membership Rewards) when spending $150+.

Having said that, the recent offers for Hilton properties in Mexico and Puerto Rico offered statement credits worth up to 15% and 17.14% respectively. This new Waldorf Astoria/Conrad offer gives a 17.14% discount and the DoubleTree/Tapestry offer gives a 16% discount, so hopefully offering less than 20% isn’t a new norm for Hilton Amex Offers.

Still, if you’re planning a paid stay at any of these brands, these are nice discounts to have, especially seeing as you should be able to load them to Hilton Amex cards even if it initially looks like you weren’t targeted. We’ve provided links to both of these offers above on the Amex Connect site, which usually means you can choose which card they’re loaded to. If you have an Amex Hilton Aspire card you’d earn 14x, for Surpass and Hilton business cards it’s 12% and for the no annual fee Hilton card it’s 7x.

As always, you have to book a refundable rate which is charged by the hotel in order to trigger the Amex Offers. Booking an Advance Purchase rate (or a few other prepaid types of rate) doesn’t trigger the offer, seemingly because the payments are processed by some kind of central Hilton entity rather than by the hotels themselves. Both of these offers are also only good when paying for stays in the US & US Territories.

These Amex Offers will stack with some other saving/earning opportunities depending on what Hilton credit cards you have and which brands you’ll be staying at.

One thing to note regarding earning cashback through a shopping portal. Most portals offers different payouts depending on your status level, so the headline rate listed on Cashback Monitor might not be what you receive, especially if you have Diamond status. There does seem have been an improvement in recent months because in the past most portals didn’t offer any cashback whatsoever for Diamond members. That appears to have changed as even Rakuten (formerly Ebates) is now offering 1% cashback for paid stays booked by those with Diamond status.

Anyone getting the doubletree offer on their Aspire card? I only see it on my Plat. Annoying trend that has also been happening with my Bonvoy card – an offer with a co-branded company, but only on the Plat, which by comparison earns poorly for hotel stays.

Amex Connect trick does not seem to work anymore.

PLEASE ENROLL ON AMERICANEXPRESS.COM

“Based on the Card Number you’ve entered, you can enroll in this offer and other personalized offers by logging into your American Express Account.“

I log on to my account through the connect page and it offers me the double tree deal on my plat (I already see it there through the regular offers page) and my Bonvoy (no Hilton offer seen on regular offers page)… but still no option to add to my Aspire card.

I was able to enroll a non-Amex issued card, but don’t have anything planned that would use two offers… unless…

Does anyone know if Hilton sells gift cards at doubletrees and whether that would trigger the offer? (I’ve seen a lot about that trick at Marriotts but not Hiltons).
