There is a new targeted Amex Offer out today for US Supermarket chain ShopRite: Get 20% back (up to $20). ShopRite operates supermarkets in the northeast part of the US, so this is a regional deal that won’t be useful to everyone, but I was glad to see it pop up as this puts a little more pep in my step for a trip to the grocery store.
The Deal
- A new Amex Offer is out for 20% back (up to $20) both in-store and online at ShopRite.com (enrollment required)
Key Terms
- Excludes ShopRite gas/fuel, ShopRite Liquor Wine & Spirits, and ShopRiteDelivers.com
- Not valid for purchases made at leased departments within ShopRite locations (presumably something like a Starbucks inside the grocery store)
- See offer for full terms
Quick Thoughts
This is a nice deal if you live in the ShopRite footprint. Note that ShopRiteDelivers.com is excluded. I bolded that because years ago ShopRiteDelivers would sometimes carry really random stuff that you wouldn’t expect from a grocery store (I bought and resold Xboxes and Samsung tablets from the site for example). I’m not sure whether they still ever have those weird non-grocery items anymore, but the Amex Offers for ShopRite always exclude that site anyway.
I am particularly excited here because we recently triggered the +4 referral offer on my wife’s Gold card, so we would be able to get a total of 8x at US Supermarkets (4x at US Supermarkets on up to $25K per year, then 1x on the Amex Gold card + 4x from the referral offer) and stack that with 20% back on a $100 purchase. I don’t live near a ShopRite, but we will pass by one before the end of the year and I’ll be in to use this offer. Hopefully ShopRite will offer an interesting promotion of its own to stack it a bit further.
Got this on his and hers Everyday Preferred, which is not a bad card on which to get a supermarket offer.
Nice, got this on Gold card which also had the spend $200 get $10 back on groceries offer.
I got 10% back up to $15
