Groupon is offering a deal to get a $200 Lowe’s Gift Card for $180. This deal works through Swych — you’ll buy a voucher through Groupon that will enable you to buy a $200 Lowe’s GC through Swych. I’m not sure whether that will be eligible for a portal payout, but if it is and you stack with the back to school portal promos, you could score over 1,000 United or American miles as well.

Quick Thoughts
Getting ten percent off on a Lowe’s gift card is a decent deal in itself. If you’re also able to stack with a portal payout, I’d say it’s a nice little win. Cash back portals are offering as much as 8% (see Cash Back Monitor for current portal rates).
Alternatively, both the United Airlines shopping portal and the American Airlines shopping portal are offering 3x miles per $1 spent at Groupon. Additionally, each portal is offering a back-to-school shopping bonus that offers a bonus of 500 miles with $150 in purchases. That should come out to 1,040 total miles on this $180 purchase if it is in fact eligible for portal rewards and you have not yet hit the first tier. Note that I’m not positive whether or not this qualifies for portal rewards (terms exclude “Groupon Coupons”, which I think means something different but YMMV).

Be careful with this – I just bought it, but the redemption code doesn’t work on the Swych app. When I contacted Groupon for a refund, they said I have to contact Swych. But Swych isn’t responding. This is going to get messy. I would not recommend doing this for a savings of $20
I typed with the capital letters and dashes. When I first tried it just in lower case with no dashes (which seemed perfectly reasonable), it didn’t work.
yep. you have to type in exactly as it appears in the groupon. First one through United tracked… but that doesn’t mean payout is guaranteed but it’s a good sign. I bought another one through topcashback portal this time using another groupon. Groupon limits 1 per account but you can redeem multiple codes through 1 Swych account. 2nd one redeemed no problem.
btw, as for payment… I just didn’t have time to go buy the groupon giftcard at grocery or staples… but paypal through Discover earns 5% cashback this quater so I just settled for that. A groupon giftcard purchased at BestBuy at 10% off via amex offer would have been a great way to stack. Just didn’t have time to drive to BestBuy.

Some cashback site’s term does say no cashing back for certain Groupon purchases.
Simply Best Coupon:
No cashback on Promotional and Gift Card offers (Costco Membership, Starbucks Gift Cards and etc.)
But united one wasn’t specifically saying anything like that. Since I am doing a major backyard construction I can use all Lowes gift-card deal I can get so I jumped on it anyways. We will see if I get the cashback/miles.
