This deal is good today only, so act fast!
Staples has a few more FAR (free after rebate) downloads available this week. By going through a shopping portal to buy these, you can earn points or cash back while also putting extra spend on your credit card, for free. I’ll soon post about the new deals, but for those who missed out a couple of weeks ago on this deal, here’s another chance to buy Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security for free (after rebate). You have to act fast since this deal is for today only. And, please note, this is the same software I wrote about a couple of weeks ago so don’t buy it a second time since rebates are limited to 5 per household.
UPDATE: A few readers have notified me that this is a different rebate number so it should work again even if you bought these last time around! I’ll give it a try and update the post soon.
UPDATE2: I just ordered 5 copies and turned in the easy rebate. As far as I can tell, this is going to work even though I bought the same item a couple of weeks ago!
Staples has an amazingly easy “Easy Rebate” system. Once you purchase the software, they send you a rebate link via email. You click the link, fill out a little bit of info and you’re done. Of course you do need to wait about two months to get your rebate…
Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Go to Staples via the Ultimate Rewards Mall:
(Note: if you do note have access to the Ultimate Rewards Mall, search for Staples on evreward.com and pick out the shopping portal that gives the best rebate, miles, or points for your situation)
Step 2: Add up to 5 Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2012 to your cart:
TIP: Search for item 368665
Step 3: Check out
TIP 1: If you have a Chase Ink card that gives 5X for office supplies, use it!
TIP 2: Your state may charge sales tax. If you know someone in a state that doesn’t charge sales tax for internet orders (CA, NH, etc.), then set their address as the delivery address and no tax will be charged. These are download only purchases anyway, so nothing will really be delivered. I couldn’t think of anyone’s address to put in, so instead I picked “deliver to store” and picked a store in California that I’ll be close to on a trip next month. Of course, there won’t really be anything to pick up.
Step 4: Submit Easy Rebates
You will receive an email from Staples with a link in it for submitting the rebate form. It’s easy!
NOTE: If you make all of the purchases at once, you only need to submit one rebate per product even if you buy multiple copies of each product. Staples keeps track of how many you bought.
TIP: The rebate can be changed from a Visa gift card to a check! See screen shot from when I bought these a few weeks ago:

My receipt says 3/5, but Staples, who I called today, shows it as 3/6 (maybe it was close to midnight Eastern). When I submitted the order, the rebate deduction was showing and the total cost was listed as free. In any case, the CSR gave me the rebate no. and I submitted it today. She also gave me the customer service no. for the Rebate Center if there is any problem. Fingers crossed!
Kevin,
When did you make your purchase? The 3-user copy was only free after rebate on 3/5. The single user is available from 3/4-3/24(I believe).
When you had them it up on your screen it should have said “Free”
I haven’t gotten an email with the rebate code nor can I find it on my receipt. I’m a little worried, even though I’m quite certain I purchased the 3-user version that was eligible for a rebate. Anyone else have this problem?
Just want to ask this again: Is it correct that I only complete one Easy Rebate for all 5? Read that twice, thought I’d confirm. BIG THANKS!
Mike H: Yes, only complete one Easy Rebate for all 5 copies of the software. Staples knows how many you purchased.
Or is it $325 x (4+5)= 2,925 UR points?
Lawrence: your second calculation is currect: 325 X 9 = 2925 points
Ok, so I bought the $325 worth. So I should get 4x for using the UR Mall. That comes to 1,300 points right? Then I got 5x for using my Ink bold card. So that’s 6,500 UR points right? Is my math/logic correct?
So how many people are going to buy 10 of 368660 and 5 of 368665 and submit both rebates?
In for 5x 368665, no tax online in MD. Is it correct that I only complete one Easy Rebate for all 5? Read that twice, thought I’d confirm. BIG THANKS!
Thanks FrequentMiler!
Just ordered two downloadables, 5 each and immediately was able to request my rebate check. Couldn’t have been simpler. Thanks for all the tips!
L O V I N G Y O U R D E A L S ! ! !
I have 10x 368660 in the cart and 2 hours to do it, but couldn’t find where the max of 10 came from per the posts above? I’ve got that too good to be true vibe… that’s $450 in spend and 1,800 UR points.
@melissAA: Staples has a good history of honoring their rebates as advertised, unless someone abuses their T&C. I would not worry.
I am curious if I should wait ’til tomorrow to buy the 10x of #368660, as I did the 5x #368172 today. But there is also the chance even the downloadable version of #368660 will be OOS by tomorrow! Any suggestions, anyone? 🙂
Just looked at return policy. If somehow this goes south, downloadable software is NOT returnable! This gives me pause…
Return Policy
Easy Returns.
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your Staples purchase, return it for any reason.
Software: Unopened software that we currently sell may be returned for a full refund at any time. Opened software can only be exchanged for the same title version. Downloadable Software is not returnable.
I think it can take a month+ to get the rebates. My rebates from last time are “validated” … whatever that means 🙂
how long does it take to get the rebate?
I called them about the “researching” issue. Sounds like they research some orders at end of day to make sure their systems are working properly. I’m guessing when there is a run on any given item they may hold up processing to be sure it’s not a website error. She processed mine over the phone and then asked which email I wanted them to send the download links to. I’m guessing if you just wait it will process.
Regarding the $45 free after rebate item, I’ll post about that tomorrow. That one is not a “today only” deal so I didn’t want to confuse things more than necessary today.
