Sears has a number of very good deals today with high numbers of Shop Your Way points back on purchases of a number of different Craftsmen tools. Many of the items come with points that are available to be used immediately on other items. For example, this Craftsman impact wrench and angle grinder kit is on sale for $150 and it comes with $110.00 back in Shop Your Way points:
Currently, the best available portal payout as provided by Cashbackmonitor.com is 5%. Don’t forget to check the terms of your chosen portal and sign up for shopping portals here. Your net cost would be about $142.49 before tax for this set and you would have $110.99 in Shop Your Way points for a future purchase. Note that some members may see different quantities of points on certain items, but many of today’s points-back deals are available to everyone.
If you’re just looking for the angle grinder, it is on sale for about $45 and comes with about $33 in points:
There are a number of other Craftsman items on sale. For instance, this miter saw is on sale for $240 and it comes with more than $77 back in points:
Or this cordless chain saw is on sale for $175 and it comes with more than $41 in points in my account:
Additionally, there are deals to be had in other categories. For example, these earbud headphones all come with 40% back in Shop Your Way points. In conjunction with a coupon in his account (I did not have the same coupon), Greg saw better than 100% back on some of them:
There are a number of hard-sided car top carriers with about 30% back in points, or this Thule car-top cargo bag is on sale for $90 with about $51 back in points:
Note that while Sears coupons typically do not work on these “hot buy” items, you should be able to use coupons on items that are not hot buys.
Therefore, if there is something else you are interested in buying at Sears, you may be able to get more bang for your buck by buying some of these points-heavy items and then combining your points back with one of these coupons on the items you want to keep. Keep, sell or donate your new tools.
See this Slickdeals thread for other items that are available, though note that some are sold out completely and others are available for pick up only. You can’t hold Sears points for long — sometimes points are set to expire in 7-days, sometimes 14-days, and some of these items say 90 days. Sears is constantly rumored to be teetering on the edge of collapse, so be sure to spend your points in a timely manner.

[…] Lots of Sears Shop Your Way deals today by Frequent Miler. Hopefully some of these are still available. […]

Please do due diligence.
Thanks, Ted. I’ve been shopping at Sears through portals for years and never noticed a portal with split category payouts for Sears. Upon further investigation, I see that there are three of four doing this now with Sears. The vast majority of portals still treat all Sears purchases the same — but thank you were absolutely right that Giving Assistant was not one of them. I have updated the post and will be sure to double check in the future. Thanks again!
Do some grinding?

🙂
Seriously, though – it is nice to have the right tool for the job. Last summer, I was installing some e-track tie-downs in an enclosed trailer. I spent about an hour sweating my butt off with a drill putting all my weight into trying to screw into the metal studs in the walls. Finally decided to open an impact driver I’d bought to resell. I’ll tell you what: I didn’t end up selling it. 🙂
Glad you grabbed a deal – and good luck hunting around Sears.
I want to leave a note right away regarding Sears and ShopYourWay points:
1) You may have to fight for your points. By this I mean calling, emailing, and begging them. So save all evidence (screenshots, etc.) of offers.
2) Use your points quickly! Sears is going the way of the dodo.
Grateful for the post. 🙂 Yet rather confusing that neither you nor slickdeals give us a parent link to where these deals start…. instead, you show us individual deals…. Not finding them under the “deal heist” or “hot buys” ? So how did you find them? Any tips? group link I’m missing?
You’re welcome!
Some deals are found in Deal Heist, some are found here:
http://www.sears.com/deals/center/hot-deals.html#/grid
On the left side, there are categories. For example, you’ll see that the “Tools” category has 215 deals. You’ll find the impact wrench/angle grinder combo in there.
Some of it is just hunting around for deals and keeping an eye on the last few pages of the Slickdeals thread as people often mention things they’ve found.
Wow — double thanks then Nick for the tips — and for having pulled out some real gems for your readers. 🙂 (A few weeks ago, I picked up a set of Craftsman deep well impact sockets…. for a song. (already half off, then another half off with the weekly deals than Greg schooled us on… even though I did not — then — have an impact driver.) Nice now to pick one up. (especially after 4 decades of changing wheels, hubs, brakes…. um…. manually.)
Now, to figure out what to do with the grinder.
