Iberia Plus is running a great promotion that results in fully-flat business class seats from Chicago, New York, or Boston to Madrid, Spain for just 25,500 Avios + ~$125 tax– or from Los Angeles or many cities in Central/South America for just 31,875 Avios + ~$125 tax. Additional Information
Iberia Plus is the loyalty program of Iberia. Their currency is Avios, though their loyalty program is separate from British Airways Avios. Members of both programs who have had both accounts open for at least 90 days have the ability to transfer points between the two programs, provided they have earned Avios in both programs. Alternatively, Iberia is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards, though points only transfer 250:200 from American Express.

Note that cities like Chicago, New York, and Boston are included in Band 5 when calculating from Madrid. Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico City, Lima, Buenos Aires, and many others within Latin America are in Band 6. Of course, you are not limited to routes from North/Central/South America. Great values can be had on many other routes from Spain as well!

What are the best options to transfer in points to an Iberia account? Guessing either UR to BA to Iberia or MR directly to Iberia? Also, any idea how long AMEX MR to Iberia transfers take?

Transfers from UR to BA are instant. I’ve never transferred from Membership Rewards to Iberia, but according to most sources I’ve read, those transfers take 1-2 days.
