JetBlue no longer offers 3X for buying Amazon.com gift cards

JetBlue offers 3X points for starting at their site and clicking through to make purchases at Amazon.com.  That still works for most purchases, but apparently will no longer work for buying Amazon.com gift cards.

As reported by Doctor of Credit, JetBlue has added Amazon Gift Cards as a new exclusion to their list of exclusions:

JetBlue excludes Amazon gift cards

I’ve added notes about this change to my Extreme Stacking Amazon.com post and will publish a revised version soon.

For the record, Doctor of Credit predicted this change in February, but they thought the double-dip would die on March 1.  We got a one month reprieve.  Doctor of Credit wrote:

Starting March 1st, Amazon are making some changes to their affiliate program (and before you start blaming FM for this change, this has been in the pipeline for months). The changes will most likely hurt most people that use Amazon affiliate links (lower payouts in most categories), but the biggest change that might affect you is the fact that they will no longer be paying out on Amazon.com gift card purchases.

When the exclusion says Amazon Gift Cards, does that mean gift cards purchased on Amazon for say Nike or does it mean Amazon gift cards to be used on Amazon.

How long does it take for JetBlue points to post when using the Amazon click through? Seems to be taking an awful long time on my end.

At least 30 to 60 days, although I have plenty of purchases that are well past 60 days and still haven’t posted yet… not sure if there’s even anything that can be done to dispute the lack of points, like you can do with regular shopping portals…

if you did a lot of shopping, then NO. almost impossible. you will never know what tracked and what didnt. just look at this as a icing on cake YMMV. there is no detail at all to the JB pts. +100 pts? is that 50 + 50 or 75 + 25? no clue. I have done probably $2k in shopping so far. looks like a lot didnt track but im not bothering with it.
