American Express is out with many new Amex Offers today. We previously wrote about an Amex Offer for an extra 1x Membership Rewards points at many stores through December 31st. Another interesting offer that popped up today was for a $100 statement credit with $300 purchase at MR PORTER.
While I have not shopped at this merchant before, it seems like they carry a wide range of luxury/fashion goods and this offer would work on a vast array of products. One product caught my eye though: I see that they sell a GoPro HERO5 Session for exactly $300:
Or, if you’re looking for a full GoPro HERO5, they carry that for $400.
Shopping portals offer up to 6% cash back or 6 British Airways Avios per dollar at MR PORTER.
Note that with United’s current shopping portal promo, a purchase of the HERO5 would trigger the 1,000 mile bonus. Note that terms of MR PORTER cash back note that items “on sale” will either offer half the rewards (at most cash back portals) or nothing (at several mileage portals). These GoPro cameras do not appear to be on sale, so I would expect a full payout.
This would be a very good price on either camera after the Amex Offer. While I’m sure there are other products on the market with similar functionality, I have been very happy with my GoPro. My wife and I often say that it’s one of the best gifts that we never knew we wanted. While the GoPro is known for extreme sports video, we have found it very useful for general wide-angle photography when traveling — and its compact size and water resistance make it easy to carry without worry. It’s not perfect — but for the compact size and ease of use, it suits us well. Here are a few (disorganized) pictures we’ve taken with our GoPro in our travels:

This is a great deal. I had the 10,000 MR points offer on the Mercedes plat. I was just able to order the Session so it must be going in and out of stock (unless my order gets cancelled). Love the pics it took – thought it was really for video only, duh! I’ll be gifting to my sister who just had a baby. Thanks for posting this 🙂
