We’ve posted a number of great airfare sales over the past couple of days that are still alive — and we are now adding Los Angeles to Australia from $800 nonstop below. Many of these prices are quite good and worth a look if you are interested in trips to these locations.
Europe
To recap, we posted about sales from both coasts to Europe:
Fare war: US east and west coasts to Europe from $300’s RT
More great fares: Low $300’s NYC to Palma de Mallorca; LAX/SFO to France, Spain, and more
A number of those sub-$400 European fares are still available (or they have only gone up by ~$20). Here are a couple, but see those posts to check more:
New York to Palma de Mallorca, Spain from $379
Los Angeles to Barcelona $387 with Google Flights or $334 with Momondo
Los Angeles to Brussels from $360
Australia
Direct flights from Los Angeles to Australia have dropped to $800 round trip direct beginning this month through early December (except in the month of July). Keep in mind that much of that time span is Australian winter. But don’t let that deter you — J.M. Hoffman went to Australia during their winter and got some great photos. You’ve gotta see them here and here. If you’re looking for early summer, these prices are available throughout November and into early December, just in time for the tail end of spring and start of summer. Adjust the departure date to see return date fares.
Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia on Qantas $800 round trip nonstop (note that dates initially say $816, but many drop to $800 once you select departure and return dates)
Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia on American Airlines, $819 nonstop

Final Word
It’s always more fun to think about vacation on Fridays, so we’ve recapped a couple of good sales. The fares to Australia are quite good for peak travel departing the US. While it may not be peak season in Australia, the weather should still be good enough to enjoy your trip and get some great photos. As always with airfare sales, these prices are likely to be available for a limited time.
