There is another new Amex Offer out to save on lodging, this time with Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, and Home2 Suites: Spend $250+, get 5,000 Membership Rewards points or $50 back depending on your card/offer. Keep in mind that like the Marriott offer we posted earlier (See: New Marriott Offer (Possible stack with Lux benefit?)), this one is only valid at properties in the US and US Territories. Further, it is only valid at the brands listed, not at other hotels within the Hilton portfolio. Still, this offer is a good value if you have a stay planned at one of these properties and it might even be worth switching a stay to pursue this one depending on how you value Membership Rewards points.
The Deal
- Spend $250+ at Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, and Home2Suites, get 5,000 Membership Rewards points or $50 back (see the terms of your offer for details)
Key Terms
- Only valid at Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, and Home2Suites
- Only valid at properties in the US and US Territories
- Expires 11/5/18
- Excludes advance purchase rates
Quick Thoughts
This offer beats the return on spend you could otherwise earn by paying with a Hilton credit card and thus would make it worthwhile to pay with a card loaded with this offer if you have an upcoming stay with any of these brands. The Membership Rewards offer would be more valuable to me and might even be enough to convince me to switch a stay to one of these properties. Our Reasonable Redemption Value for Membership Rewards points is 1.82 cents each, making the 5K points offer worth about $91 back on a $250 stay — though the points could certainly be worth more or less depending on how you use them. Hilton’s current Double Points promo expires September 9th, but if you can use this offer before then you could also pull in 28-30 points per dollar as a Gold or Diamond member in addition to this offer. I won’t personally have any stays between now and then that I could switch to the included brands, but if I did I would likely make that switch.
As far as I know, Hilton does not sell physical gift cards at any hotels (I believe they are only sold online), so you would not be able to bank this one for a future stay that way. Unfortunately, advance purchase rates are also excluded, so if you would be inclined to book one of those rates, be aware that it will not work with this offer.
You will find this offer added to our database of Current Amex Offers.
Wouldn’t this also stack (triple stack?) with the 2,500 Lufthansa miles offer?
