AT&T Wireless For Business Amex Offer - 20,000 Membership Rewards

Quick Thoughts

This is an extremely generous Amex Offer if you already have AT&T Wireless For Business service. It’s somewhat similar to the AT&T Small Business Internet Amex Offer from a few months back, except that one was even more generous as it could be done three times per card.

Still, even with the recent restrictions when loading Amex Offers, you can still load one version of the statement credit and one version of the bonus Membership Rewards. This offer only appears to be available on Amex business credit cards, so if you have any authorized users with unique SSNs, they should be able to load the offer(s) themselves in order to take advantage of this offer even further.

My understanding is that paying for your personal AT&T wireless plan has triggered AT&T Wireless For Business Amex Offers in the past, so that might be an opportunity even if you don’t have a specific business cellphone plan with AT&T. (Edit: Curtis has confirmed in the comments below that the offer is triggered when paying for personal cellphone service.)

Additional Edit: This offer appears to be targeted as other people are getting a ‘Spend $150, Get $50 Back / 5,000 Membership Rewards’ offer that can be used three times. While not quite as generous, that’s still a good offer if you already have this wireless service.

Don’t forget that you should be able to prepay your service in order to max out this offer.

Got this offer on my Green Business Amex (downgraded from previous Business Gold Rewards Amex) and also on my SPG Amex.

No problem with the Green Amex, posted as “AT&T HSIA Bus E-Evr Dallas” when used to pay business internet bill through att.com/smallbusiness.

Paid the same account through SPG Business Amex and it posted as “AT&T Bill Payment AT&T HSIA”.

But no offer triggered 🙁

Any ideas why? The small print on the offer says:

Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid for wireless bill pay for AT&T AutoPay and one-time payment only. In order to be eligible for the offer, you must enroll your Card and use that Card to pay your wireless bill or other service charges online directly with AT&T at att.com/smallbusiness or through the AT&T app. Your payments must be in the amount of $200 or more in a single transaction and completed by 12/7/18. Offer valid one time. Purchases for equipment or prepaid, U-verse, web hosting, or wireless services that do not appear on your AT&T wireless bill are excluded from this offer. Payments by phone, at retail locations or via third parties do not qualify.

Broadly HSIA qualifies under “or other service charges” but the 2nd last sentence is ambiguous.

Presumably wireless services that DO appear on the AT&T wireless bill are NOT excluded.

Are equipment, or U-Verse charges that DO appear on the bill excluded? (HSIA=High Speed Internet Access=U-verse).

I think AT&T may have tightened up on this offer due to the large $ amount involved. Perhaps they intended to narrowly target business owners who have multiple lines on a business plan and ring up bills of $200 or more monthly.

Any creative ways to apply this towards an iPhone purchase? e.g. sign up for a high $ plan with a free or subsidized phone?

allen

has anyone tried to use this offer to buy phone using AT&T Next?

j mith

Can anyone tell me what the name of att charge that appears on your statement? I do a prepaid account that says
VESTA AT&T – 866-608-3007 I want to know if that will trigger the offer.

allen

did your prepaid account trigger the offer?

[…] following dialog was about the latest AT&T Wireless Amex offers (details here).  As an AT&T wireless customer, the latest offers are an awesome way to get cash back or earn […]

Patrick Oh!

Have you heard of an AT&T CC that offers great benefits for travel? II saw it listed in a post being a Top 10 card to have?
Also, I believe you discussed working with Citi To offset the annual fee by having an preexisting account with Citibank is that correct? There were a couple of added benefits that you received, if you call and ask for. I plan to do that but I need to remind myself besides the reduced annual fee, what else it was it that you received by virtue of either having a thank you rewards account already or having a Citi checking or savings account.

Jean

Of our six American Express cards, only the Blue Business cards had the $200 offer. ATT personal acct. Fast $400! It’s especially interesting because I have one platinum and one gold AMEX card and neither of those have the offer, yet the lowly no-annual-fee + 2x-MR Blue Biz cards scored big!

[…] Frequent Miler reports, other Amex cardholders are seeing a slightly tweaked version of the offer, with a single payment […]

DaveC

Foolish me. I quickly added the $150/$50 offer to my preferred AMEX card without checking all my AU accounts because I didn’t know that AU accounts could have the $200/$200 offer.

Blue

Two separate offers, you should be able to get and do both.

DaveC

None of my AU have the $200 offer.

Brett W

JUST switched from Sprint to AT&T last month and got the offer on two biz cards. Made a prepayment for $200 and immediately got the congrats e-mail from AMEX!!!!! Wish i could still multi-tab this offer and get it twice, but hey, free is free.

Brett W

Also, got locked out of my car today and used AmEx roadside assistance for first time. I was back in in 30 minutes at no charge. My AmEx Biz Plat is paying for itself today!

Peter

I, and both of my AUs, got this offer on my personal SPG card. None of the business cards in my family got it. Also, one of my AUs got the $200 off $200, while the other two of us got the $50 off $150 x3.

Marc

Can also confirm it works for personal AT&T account purchases. Had the $200 back on $200 on my business SPG card and got the Congrats! email right away. Will use again on my wife’s biz SPG. Great tip guys!

FFT

When you say ATT purchases, what do you mean? Are you buying electronics off of ATT?

wiivile

did you pay via the app for a personal payment? it says you have to pay via att.com/smallbusiness or on the app…

Marc

I made a $200 purchase toward my cell phone bill through the normal payment page.

Greg The Frequent Miler

This is awesome. With the previous offer for business internet, personal AT&T wireless payments did not trigger the offer. But this time, since it is for wireless service, personal wireless payments do appear to work! Amex is sending out congratulations emails immediately after each $150 or $200 payment (depending upon the offer you have).

David

Does anyone have DP on working on Personal ATT Internet only? Not wireless.

Damon

Didn’t work for me for ATT Internet (via att.com). Has anyone tried paying for internet on the app?

Mark

Did you pay Att fiber or uverse?

Damon

Fiber

voyager

Were you guys able to add offer to more than one card? I got the $150 up to 3x offer on two cards. I did the multiple tab trick, but got the “Sorry about that! The offer you selected has already been added to one of your Cards.” error. I don’t think it took me more than 2 seconds in between. Their IT must have tightened things up.

Jeff

Same as everybody else – $50 off $150, up to 3x

The terms “or through the AT&T App” are intriguing. Is there a specific “AT&T BUSINESS” App? Or might this be the best way to trigger the offer? Looking forward to data points…

Curtis

YMMV but I got a congrats email from AMEX after paying at ATT Wireless personal site. I had spend $150/get $50 x3 offer.

Garett

Just another data point, I made a $150 payment to a personal account and got the congrats email from Amex.

Dan

Will the credit post for any transaction made on ATT Wireless? If I buy an accessory etc…
