IHG is offering 50% off award nights at select hotels & resorts in Mexico, Latin America & the Caribbean, including a few all-inclusive properties when you book by May 7th for stays through June 30, 2018. If you bought IHG points on sale earlier this week, you can probably snag a great deal at some of the properties on the list.

Quick Thoughts

This promotion comes around once or twice a year and can make for some solid deals if you’ve picked up cheap IHG points throughout the year. For example, I looked up a few nights during the promotion at the Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos All-Inclusive, and this sale represents a good deal.

a screenshot of a hotel roomWhile the cheapest rate shown is $177.30, that is a prepaid non-refundable rate. The cheapest flexible rate was $189 per night. If you bought IHG points last week during the targeted promotion (See: Buy IHG points for 0.46 cents each with targeted promotion, since expired), 20K would have cost you $92 — making for both a nice discount over paid rates and a solid deal for an all-inclusive property. There are a couple of Intercontinental properties on the list that could also be attractive at 50% off on awards.

I am not sure whether or not this one stacks with the 4th night free on award stays from the new IHG Rewards Club Premier or IHG Rewards Club Traveler cards, but if it does that could be an even better deal.

As always, do your price comparisons as the sale won’t necessarily be a good deal everywhere, but it certainly can be useful for some fun in the sun.
