American Express is on a roll with its transfer bonuses. In addition to Virgin Atlantic, Qantas, Avios and Marriott, there’s also a targeted 40% or 50% transfer bonus to JetBlue.
The Deal
- Transfer Membership Rewards to JetBlue TrueBlue with a 40% or 50% bonus.
Key Terms
- Expiry date unknown. Offer ended 6/16/2019.
Quick Thoughts
Membership Rewards usually transfer to JetBlue on a 250:200 basis. With a 40% transfer bonus, they’ll transfer on a 250:280 basis, or a 1:1.12 basis. With the 50% transfer bonus, they’ll transfer on a 250:300 basis, or 1:1.2.
This appears to be highly targeted – a couple of members of the Frequent Miler Insiders Facebook group reported getting this bonus, but neither my wife nor I received, nor did Greg and his family.
TrueBlue redemptions are tied to the value of the cash fare, so they don’t offer opportunities to get outsized value. However, transferring on a 1:1.2 (or 1:1.12) basis could still be worth it, especially if you’re just topping off your account for a specific redemption.
[…] also offered a transfer bonus as high as 50% just a few months ago. That one was targeted, so at least this one is available to everyone with cards that allow them to transfer Membership […]
If you don’t mind me asking, which Amex card did some of your employees find the offer on?
Sadly I am not targeted. If asked nicely will Amex give me the offer anyway?
It certainly doesn’t cost anything to ask, but I give it a 0% chance of working.
