There is a new targeted Amex Offer came out today on personal Platinum cards that is good for +5x at Walmart.com. This stacks nicely with the new Walmart+ benefit that launched today.
The Deal

Key Terms
- Expires 11/25/21
- Excludes Walmart+ membership
- Limit of 2,500 points
- Excludes bulk gift cards and e-gift cards
- Includes pickup and delivery purchases made online and qualifying purchases made through the Walmart mobile app.
- See offer for full terms
Quick Thoughts
If you shop online at walmart.com, getting 6 total points per dollar on up to $500 in spend is obviously a nice deal. The terms exclude bulk gift cards and e-gift cards, but I imagine that a single $500 physical gift card (purchased online) should work fine for those who primarily shop in-store.
It’s odd to see Amex tie up its Platinum cards with Walmart-related benefits, but as you’ll hear me note on the podcast this weekend, I don’t really care about the brand image of the card if it saves me money. I currently have Walmart+ for free through a portal sign up offer last year, but I’ll be happy to keep it courtesy of the Platinum card and I’ll take them up on these extra points per dollar as well.
Sadly, no such offer on my Platinum card. Womp womp
Anyone else get the Amex contactless card offer? $2 back for $5 spend up to 5x. Saw on my vanilla platinum and gold so I added to gold since I’ll likely use at dining and grocery.
