American Express has launched a new transfer bonus today, offering a 20% bonus whn transferring Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy.

Quick Thoughts
We recently updated our Reasonable Redemption Value for Marriott and deemed that you should be looking to get value of at least 0.76 cents per point. That means that even with a 20% bonus from Amex, there’s a good chance that you’ll be getting less than one cent per point of value.
This transfer bonus therefore isn’t going to be worth taking advantage of other than for less common instances where you can get outsized value, or if you need just a few thousand more points for an award.
