IHG has opened registration for a new global promotion that’s offering up to triple points on stays from October through December.

Key Terms
- To participate in the ‘Up to 3X’ Promotion (the ‘Promotion’), an individual must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account and must register for the Promotion. Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting 16 September 2025 until 30 September 2025 (the ‘Pre-Registration Period’). Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning on 1 October 2025 and ending on 31 December 2025 (the ‘Promotion Period’). Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period. A member can only register once. By registering for the Promotion, a member accepts these terms and conditions.
- After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X bonus points beginning on their second qualifying stay and 3X bonus points beginning on their third qualifying stay and each qualifying stay thereafter, for a maximum of 70,000 bonus points total during the promotion period. For the purposes of this Promotion, a ‘Qualifying Stay’ is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding $30 USD (or local currency equivalent) for each night. As stated, the ‘Promotion Period’ is from 1 October 2025 until 31 December 2025. Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion are also not included. Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points + Cash are not Promotion-Eligible Qualifying Stays for the purposes of this Promotion. Bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Promotion. If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.
- For the Up to 3X Promotion, earning ‘2X’ or ‘2X points’ on your second qualifying stay before 31 December 2025 means the total number of regular ‘base points’ and promotional ‘bonus points’ combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member. Earning ‘3X’ or ‘3X points’ on your third qualifying stay and each stay thereafter until 31 December 2025 means the total number of regular ‘base points’ and promotional ‘bonus points’ combined will equal three (3) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member.
- The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for a Qualifying Stay just for being an IHG One Rewards member, and any Elite status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to receive for the same stay are not included.
- Bonus points earned through this Promotion are not Elite status qualifying under the IHG One Rewards program.
Quick Thoughts
I have mixed feelings about this promotion. I strongly dislike hotel promos where they offer zero bonus points on your first stay. However, earning double points on your second stay and triple points on all stays thereafter through the end of the year could be a very rewarding offer and is the best one we’ve seen from IHG all year.
Let’s assume you have an IHG Premier, Premier Business or Select (the latter of which is no longer available for new applications) and thus have Platinum status. From your third stay you’d earn:
- 10x base points (at most IHG brands)
- 20x bonus points from this promo
- 6x bonus points from having Platinum status
- 10x bonus points paying with your IHG Premier or Premier Business card (5x if paying with an IHG Select card)
That’s a total return of 46x which is excellent. For someone with Diamond status in the IHG One Rewards program, you’d earn a total of 50x as the status bonus is 10x rather than 5x.
