There are (at least) two new Hertz Amex Offers out that give up to 20% back on car rentals. The first one seems to only be available on Platinum cards and offers $100 back on $500 spent in one or more purchases. The second is available on non-Platinum cards and halves the first, getting you $50 back on $250.
These are both targeted offers, and given Hertz’s predilection for arresting its customers, either one could be helpful when you’re trying to raise bail.
The Deal
There are two new Amex Offers that provide up to 20% off on rental cars with Hertz
- Spend $500+ on one or more rentals with Hertz & get $70 back with an Amex Offer.
- Targeted to Platinum cards only
- Must enroll by 9/30/25 and pay for rental by 10/31/25
- Spend $250+ on one or more rentals with Hertz & get $50 back with an Amex Offer.
- This one is targeted to non-Platinum cards

- Offer valid only for vehicle rentals made directly with participating Hertz corporate-owned locations in the US.

- Must pick up and return rental to Hertz Corporate-owned locations only.
- Eligible rentals must be paid by 10/31/2025 in order to qualify.

- Offer valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
Quick Thoughts
This is a great way to save money on car rentals, given that either one can be reached in more than one transaction.
It’s worth noting that, while both versions of the offer require you to make your purchase by 10/31/25, the larger one that’s targeted to Platinum cards also requires that you enroll by 9/30/25. If you’re thinking about renting a car before the end of October, it’s worth adding both now.

i just compared a 9 day rental on hertz.com vs priceline in LIH, and even with the $100 off (hertz.com) + amex plat discount code, priceline still wins.
