Delta/Turo partnership ending on 12/31/25

Back at the start of 2022, Delta launched a partnership with Turo that awarded bonus SkyMiles when renting from the Airbnb for cars.

If you’ve been taking advantage of that partnership, Delta shared some bad news yesterday: their partnership will be ending on December 31, 2025.

Rentals up until the end of the year will still earn bonus miles, but any rentals from January 1, 2026 onwards won’t be eligible; that includes rentals that start during 2025 but end after the end of the year. That’s a shame for anyone who’s already made non-refundable reservations as it means you can’t rebook in a different way in order to get rewarded.

Speaking of getting rewarded, United launched their own partnership with Turo last year, so that’s one way to also earn miles on these rentals. You earn 5x MileagePlus miles on your first Turo rental and 1x for subsequent rentals.

When preparing this post, I also noticed that Rakuten now offers rewards for Turo rentals too. At the time of publishing this the rate is 2x, so that’ll be a much more appealing earning method for returning Turo customers, especially now that you have the choice to convert Rakuten earnings to Bilt points in addition to American Express Membership Rewards.

First sentence of this post confused me because of their similar relationship with Airbnb. Not a great loss though, Turo is a decent idea but I never use it for some reason. Mostly because my car rentals involve a lot of mileage and I don’t care to do that to an individual trying to make extra money.
