As a fellow content creator (in the family travel space, no less), I hope that you’re clicking through the links provided by AI tools when you’re planning your trips. Gemini isn’t buying flights and paying for nights at all those kinder hotels to research the appropriate ages and features – a real human family is doing that, paying for it and reporting on it, and the AI tools are just scraping their hard work with no compensation.
Much better way to do the schedule forv this would be to list the names of all the tools referred to and the minute:second link they occur. Alsl, make the former list sortable.
Can you explain please the best way to get through to the airlines if you do find a lower mile flight and want to get some of the miles back?I have a very hard time getting through to them. Let’s say there’s a specific Sat-Sat flight, only one available. Often if I do get through, the rep will say, well, if I cancel to rebook, you may lose the flight. Is that b.s.?
Also, can’t I just say refund the miles I no longer need for this flight and keep my reservation intact? Thanks!
Many airlines won’t let you do a simple change; they will have to cancel and then rebook (if the flight is still available – for some competitive flights like to Japan, once alerts go out, they get snatched up in seconds). For most flights, it’s no problem at all making the change, but just know if you’ve got something you’re looking to snag that is in demand (like ANA/JAL business class or first class)
But what tool do you use for the most time consuming task: coupon tracking? I just use a checklist on the notes app on my phone. Thankfully I don’t currently have any Amex plats, so it’s a fairly short list.
How do you keep your best offers up to date? Is it a manual process, do you farm it out, or do you have some automation?
Dr. Toboggan, we are not that different, after all, it seems. I use the notes app, too.
What a tool!
Excel spreadsheet for me. Manual.
I track on my Google Tasks in my Google Calendar
