Amazon: Save up to 50% when redeeming Membership Rewards points (Targeted)

3

Amazon is back with a new pay-with-points promotion, where eligible members can save by paying with a minimum number of American Express Membership Rewards points. It seems some folks need to redeem $5 (714) in points to trigger the promo, while others need to use $10 (1429).

These offers will stack with the current slate of Amazon Amex Offers, so double-dip if you can. We have sometimes seen targeted deals on offer, so it’s worth checking whether you have one and what it is. (h/t: DOC)

The Deal

  • Amazon.com is offering a new targeted deal that provides a discount when you use at least $5-$10 worth of Membership Rewards points at checkout. Example deals we have seen in the past include:
    • 30% off ($30 or $60 max discount)
    • 40% off ($40 or $80 max discount)
    • 50% off ($50 or $100 max discount)
  • Direct link to this deal (our affiliate link)

Key Terms

  • This is a limited time offer. The promotion will end on the earlier of (a) 5:00 pm PT on 6/30/2026 or (b) the time at which 21,250 customers have redeemed the offer. The promotion button will expire at the same time as the offer.
  • This offer is for 40% off (up to $40 total discount) on the purchase of eligible products. Maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is $40 off per eligible Membership Rewards-enrolled Card or per one Amazon account.
  • To redeem, Eligible Card Members must first activate the offer, then apply the promotion at checkout for a purchase of eligible products using at least 1,429 Membership Rewards® points for at least a portion of the purchase. Offer discount will be allocated proportionally among all eligible products in your original order. Amazon reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time.
  • This promotion is available only to Amazon.com customers who are Eligible Card Members. Eligible Card Members are certain U.S. American Express Card Members, as determined by American Express, with a Card that earns Membership Rewards points and is linked to their Amazon Site account through the Shop with Points enrollment process. See full Shop with Points Terms and Conditions for details: www.amazon.com/amexmr.
  • This offer is only available on eligible products. Eligible products are items that can be purchased using Shop with Points at checkout for this promotion. Not all products on Amazon.com are eligible. See Shop with Points Restrictions. Offer is applied before shipping, taxes and fees. Shipping charges may apply to eligible products.
  • Promotional codes (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards.
  • Offer is available by invitation only, is non-transferable, is not redeemable for cash, and may not be resold. Offer may not be combined with other offers.
  • If any of the eligible products in your order are returned, you will receive a refund of the amount charged to your Card, subject to Amazon’s return and refund policies. Your refund will equal the original price of the eligible product less the proportional amount of the discount. If you’ve reached the maximum dollar discount available under this offer, you cannot reuse the discount after you return an eligible product. If you would like the Membership Rewards points returned to your Card Account instead of a refund, you must contact American Express within 60 days of receipt of the credit. If a refund cannot be processed by American Express, for reasons including but not limited to closure of your Card Account, Amazon will issue an Amazon Gift Card to you for an amount equal to the value of the Membership Rewards points used towards your product.

Quick Thoughts

Personally, both my wife and I were targeted for 40% off, up to $40 off this time, which is a deal we’ll certainly use since we shop at Amazon all the time. While the terms indicate that this deal cannot be used in conjunction with other deals, it should stack with sale pricing, and will stack with the current round of Amazon Amex offers.

It’s worth hitting the “activate” button sooner rather than later since you never know when the deal might get pulled.

Keep in mind that there are usually multiple versions of the offer, but it only takes a second to click through and check which you might have. Let us know what offer you’ve gotten in the comments.

I got 15% on 1429 up to $15

Ajay

Same here – not worth using 1,429 points for that.

All I got was a measly “Spend $50 or more, earn 500 Membership Rewards® points, up to 3 times” offer on my Blue Business Plus
